• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Hi Folks, Time again for a Drive & meet . Quite a few "Stingees" have been asking when are we going to get a drive happening ? Date 14/7/18 .

Meet: 8am at 246 Windsor Rd, McGraths Hill ( The KFC/McDonalds complex )
Trip: Thence a drive to Bathurst including a few quiet laps of Mt. Panaroma followed by a visit to the Motorsport museum whilst we are there.

As some of the members are from Central and more Northern reaches of Nsw it was decided this time the location would be advantageous to most. The Kia GT NSW Face book group branch has posted this as well so there should be cars involved such as Kia Pro-ceed GT's and maybe some Optimas as well. So there won't be any wiggle room for date or location changes.

Ideally we would like to see the Stingers out in force, showing there various plumage and flexing their twin turbo muscle (Discretly):);). Last two meets were great but i let the side down by not giving enough warning ... so here you are 7 weeks to eradicate the excuses:laugh::laugh: and polish and detail those machines. Sydney folk aiming to be back in the big smoke by 6pm. - Ozs-

We have tagged FB as interested, will confirm either way as the date draws nearer.

Guys - this sounds tops - unfortunately I will be on holidays overseas so no can make it :(

I think Chillgoon was driving up the mountains on the weekend while I was driving down. I also saw a yellow GT in Penrith who lives around there somewhere. Anyone got an idea on how to add the yellow reflector to the stinger headlights. Looks complicated to remove and not sure if the headlight cover can be removed separately due to condensation . Get my new wheels this weekend finally. Been waiting for them to arrive for 6 weeks en route from Miami Florida.

I saw a silky silver GT today in Penrith, surprised to see one same as mine. I personally wouldn’t pull your headlight apart, a smash repairer told me last week they are $5K each. Check out eBay you can buy the yellow reflector adhesive overlay which has Stinger on it.

Might be the same Silky Silver then. More and more on the road now. Yes I got the stinger reflector already but bugger knows how to get in fitted lol.

Yes I’ve spotted more in the last month than anytime before. I assume the reflector is applied to the outside of the light. Also are you considering this run in July?

Certainly a few around now. You sure its applied from the outside. no info when I bought it yet the photos I have seen appeared to show it inside or under the headlight cover. I will have to give it another look. Yes certainly planning to come on the run unless heavy rain or snow in Bathurst lol. I went for a drive last weekend in the rain and shit myself. I couldn't get traction off the lights or at low speeds at all !!!!. Last weekend I did an early run up the putty road and found a nice long straight stretch miles out in the bush with no houses, structures or cars on the road and took ma baby to 265kph will plenty of pedal left over. I recon could blow the 280kph easy now.

The reflectors on eBay show photos of them being applied on the outside. Turn traction control on lol, we did a run the weekend before down through Robinson, Kiama, Berry & back through Fitzroy Falls & home good roads for this car, I kept to the speed limit though. They are some serious numbers you pulled if you get caught. Yes if the weather permits good chance we will attend & I look forward to meeting the ever growing group of owners/enthusiasts.

Ok will look at ebay as bought them from another website. I most certainly had traction control on and have never had it off lol. Yes I know hence it only took me half a minute to get to that speed then quickly back off. I would love to try top end on a runway or somewhere similar.

Bloody hell , how easy is that. Just viewed the ebay ad for the reflectors. Will fit this weekend. Cheers for that.
No worries, glad to help, post some pics once you’ve fitted them.

I had similar experience when the road was just wet at the start of rain and going in and out of round about was a difficult task with all that power.
Got wheel spins and traction control kicked in but by that time i was able to get my foot off accelerator, wasn't expecting that much loosening.
