No manual transmission - deal breaker for some?

Definitely a deal breaker for me. Then again, I probably wouldn't really have bought a Kia anyway. Looks like my next car will be a used M3.

Good effort though, Kia. Maybe we can put this on the fridge.

Hey, @Jay86! Welcome. What are you driving now? Since you like the M3 - do you know if the new model still has a manual available? I'm almost certain the new M5 does not. It sure does look nice, though...

I just saw somebody post on one of my favorite forums - GM Inside News - making mention of the Stinger having no manual. Here's the discussion over there:
2018 Kia Stinger is a stylish gran turismo with biturbo V6 power

I know some people are pretty firm about having a manual transmission. In fact, my friend Jimmy here (he's been hiding lately) is one of them. He's always and only owned cars with a third pedal. How do you feel about the Stinger not having the option available? Manuals are becoming a rare breed. Is there anyone here who feels this is a deal breaker?

DEAL BREAKER for me. If you want true sports car guys to show interest, at least offer a manual as an option.

I've always preferred manual in a performance car, but in something I need to use regularly in traffic (and, boy, do we have some traffic!) I can accept a good automatic - and the Stinger is very nice. Not DCT but very quick.

If I lived out where traffic would not be an issue, I'd want a manual.

Previously I had a VW Golf GTI and a Nissan Altima V6, both with manual transmission. The general trend is moving towards automatic transmissions, which are more practical for daily commutes. Even in Europe, where stick shifts have ruled until now, new rental cars are being offered with automatic transmission. I had a difficult time selling my 2001 Altima because it had a stick shift. It is a trend that is here to stay, and unfortunately we can’t stop it. As with everything else, we have to get with the times.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
