No deals on 22 GT2

After some badgering I did get a few numbers from this dealer although not what I asked for as I asked for total due at start, MSRP, MF and the acquisition fees, etc. Here's what he sent me. There is something off here. I'm not planning on doing this it's just for educational purposed at this point. I agree with waiting till the market calms down if you can.

Depreciation = 25,056.32
Rent Charge Total + 3,672.36
Monthly Tax Total + 2,010.96
Monthly Payment Total = 30,739.32
Lease Term ÷ 36
Base Monthly Payment = 798.01
Monthly Tax + 55.86
Total Monthly Payment = 853.87

You need the gross capitalized cost (this is the selling price of the vehicle). You can then compare that to the MSRP, to see if they're "jacking up" the price. Then you need to know the money factor (and compare that to the Kia Money factor offered this month - you can find that info on Edmunds). I would bet they're inflating both and probably also adding some "dealer Fees".

I recently test drove a GT2 at a Fairfield County, CT dealer. They asked me if I wanted to get pre-approved, I told them I couldn't because I was in the process of getting a mortgage and could not touch my credit until that was done. I think that turned them off and they lost their interest.
Please don't take this the wrong way because it is your wallet but based upon the info, you are at a car dealer looking at cars right now.........why????;)

My current lease is coming up and the new mortgage situation just happened to come up just before test drive, real estate market is crazy these days.

I can do a new lease/finance deal but the bank doesn't want any new credit until mortgage is done

Didn't mean to sound like i was dipping into your pocketbook but I remember when I was going through the same process for my house and mortgage lender at my bank told us to not even go towards a car dealership even if we needed a vehicle before the process was complete......

Bank doesn't play with that stuff......LOL

It's all good. I wanted to test drive the GT2 but knew I wouldn't be doing a new purchase ahead of time.

At least it helped me filter out this particular dealer. Won't be working with them when the time comes.

Hang in there. Same situation as you in NC. It's a crap time to buy a car and local dealers are deeply unserious about selling Stingers, adding crazy markups of $4k-6k on 2022 models. Probably wait and see how the market looks after Labor Day if you have the patience.
Hendrick in Cary, NC has an AWD 2021 Stinger GT2 in stock. They might actually be willing to deal on that one.

I was in a similar mortgage / new car situation recently. I explained the possibility to my mortgage broker, and he gave me a monthly payment to stay below, and we were at a point in the process that credit checks at a dealer actually would not have an impact. So I'd touch base with your broker if you haven't yet, as you might be more in the clear than you think. Just FYI

That's good to know, thanks for the info.

I'm actually at that point where a dealer credit check wouldn't have a negative effect on the mortgage (closing on 2.5 weeks), so I may wait until then. I am monitoring the inventory near me and I'll probably start reaching out to these dealerships

Maybe if you see one that you really want, see if a dealer would take a "good faith" deposit until you get the mortgage clear. IMHO, I would rather see you get the house over the Stinger....you can always circle back around for the Stinger. ;)

House over Stinger, my sentiment exactly!

I'm looking to purchase a stinger in the bay area and have not been able to get any kind of a deal whatsoever. Any help would be appreciated
