Nitto Motivo tires

Hows the noise and comfort with the tires ... might consider swapping out the stock bridgestones with those ... tho being in NJ NY would mean id also need to buy winter tires ...

I decided to go with Continental Extreme Contact Sports. It's another max performance summer tires so you'd still need a separate winter set up but the reviews for it are outstanding. They're priced higher than the Nittos though.

Just one more contender for you to consider.

As positive feedback on the NITO TYRES I will Give it a Positive Top Ratting  for a Smooth and a much Quiet Tyre
than the Michelin Pilot Super Sport that I had on previously and they were very good tyers in all conditions and handling .
in my experience and in my opinion so far, and driving it only for a few days now
it seems to meet all it's requirements it feels smooth and it has my tick of approval :)

Just threw these on, got a pretty good deal at 550.00 shipped and 630.00 installed.

Haven’t really driven on them but I’m expecting I’ll need to pull more boost than I had to on the Continental Exteme summer tires.

Had the nitro n555g2 on my 2018 Mustang gt, took them off in less than 3k miles and replaced them with the Michelin pilot super sports. No comparison, the Michelin’s were worlds better, my 0-60 picked in.2 and handled the curves much better. The Michelin 4s is a better version of the mpss so it’s easily gonna be better than any tire nitto makes. People who are not perfornmance oriented drivers will be satisfied with the invos or 555g2, for the rest of us the Michelin sport 4s are easily the best choice.

These tires compare favorably to the Michelin’s, only tire I would go with over the 4s (and only if switching saved me some $$)

Well, this is a bit like comparing the Stinger to a 911. Nitto Motivo UHP A/S are not going to corner like Michelin Pilot summers of any description. The Motivos are All Season. Being UHP is cool in an A/S tire. That means you can sport around with them well over 180 MPH (heh, like that is going to happen on Planet Earth more than a handful of times a year on open roads). They won't hold corners at the same speed as the summer tires, go figure. So if you're planning on timing yourself vs other like-minded speed freaks, the Motivos will lose.

But for a winter tire? Unless you live in the dead of months long winters, A/S are the best compromise; and UHP, well the cat's whiskers for performance winter driving. Put your Michelins up against my Motivos below 40F and you'd be wanting the Motivos then. So when the winter crud is plowed and melted off, the A/S come into their own: and around here that is over 90% of the time. The Pilots are too hard and will slip. The Motivos will always grip.

Here she is with her new wheels: TSW "Watkins" Double Black, 19" that are half an inch wider than the OEM GT rims.

I put my Michelin Pilot summer tires on them. And for at least the next two days I will be driving on those, despite sub freezing temperatures this week. On the drive away from Wheel Werks, I noticed instantly that the ride is not as soft as on the Motivos. The first minor divot in the road, the RF tire went "wham", instead of "thump": pretty unforgiving if the road surface is bad. The Michelins are gripping just fine for normal driving. I took "my" interchange without compunction at 80+ MPH and they were stuck in perfectly. In Comfort mode, with the Eibach rear Sway bar (soft), and Michelin summers, at c. 31F outside, there was not the first indication of slip or squirreliness. But when I get my Motivos back (possibly as early as Friday), on the OEM rims powder coated glossy black, I will swap these to the shed until March looks "civilized", if the weather looks threatening again before then.

More driving on the Motivos.

Positives: Resists hydroplaning well, corners descent, rides softly and priced cheaply.

Negatives: Horrible straight line acceleration in the rain, bad on dry pavement, noisier than the Continentals, overall traction above 40* is no where near summer tires.

Overall, I’m not thinking this was the best decision for a RWD Stinger making above stock power. I think the Continental DWS06’s might be the best compromise for traction/tread life in a “ULTRA HIGH performance” A/S.

These make the grade as a Performance A/S.... but IMHO should not be considered UHPAS’s in the least.

Interesting opinion. Thanks for sharing.

I ran these on my tuned SRT Charger and had zero issues, and they are excellent in wet acceleration on my tuned AWD GT2.

I also found the Continental tires noisy on my 2014 R/T Charger. To each his own. I hope you find what you love!

They resist hydroplaning well but straight forward traction is basically non-existent... I backed down to Map1 on the JB4 and still pulling 4lbs of boost it’s not great.

Direct comparison - Traction on Map1 is equal or slightly less than the Continentals on Map2.

UHP rating is top speed rating, nothing more. The tire has to test above 186 MPH and not risk self destruction. You are hooked on raw RWD acceleration, in the rain no less. :P If the tires are good at resisting hydroplaning, they are a good tire for handling various weather and seasons. If they get knocked dead from 0-60 by a summer tire, that just means the conditions favor the summer. But during many months of the year if the temperatures are sub 40F, the Motivos are going to win out more often over summer tires.

Agree. AWD is the difference here.

I am back on my OEM rims and the Motivos until the weather gets rainy and warmer; hopefully by mid March (with the inevitable cold snaps, which we will "weather" with aplomb on the Michelins and my new Watkins rims):

I should’ve known better than try them with only an A rating and not AA in wet braking.... that would’ve probably indicated that lack of traction in straight line acceleration.

I’m in NC, so almost always above 40*. I knew I’d sacrifice with these.... just not this much. It’s well rounded tire... but it will give up even on cornering at a punch from a 60 mph roll. They are at least predictable when they let go.

AWD don’t really have traction woes... so I’m sure they work for you guys. I don’t want our RWD guys thinking they will get much out of these if they start modding. They are acceptable in rainy and sleeting conditions so far.... not on beautiful sunny days.

I have them with AWD and in the rain and cold, they do great......trying to get a RWD to grip in the rain is asking a lot. My Mustang only had 305hp stock and will light up summers in dry if not careful. You're asking a lot from an A/S, no matter what conditions.

With your car modded, I would stick with a Max performance summer tire if you plan on driving it hard all the time. The Motivo’s are a good compromise for an all season tire but not the best. Comfort and long treadwear were my main reason for getting them, as well as some winter traction. They are not great in wet if you push them and certainly had less traction than I’m used to on GT tires in the winter.
