Ngk spark plugs

I found the NGK plugs at one time, I think they had them listed under the race plugs that they offer. I had to cross reference the dimensions and specs to find them. Then I found the price and said nope.

Denso it is.

Only you'll be replacing the Denso's more often. Stock plugs are better then the Denso's.

Might just take my 50k mile plugs out and inspect if i get a hair in my ass lol
Ill poat a pic if i do

Run with whichever plug you like. It's all good. I bought the NGKs for way less than 1/2 of the HKS, and that's good enough for me. Kia says 42k mile for normal operations, and just "more frequently" for severe usage. The way we run ours, we definitely qualify for "more frequently". $50 for plugs every 25-30k miles and 20min to change them on the 2.0T... there are other things more worthy of fussing over.

Even the HKS isn't that bad a hit on the wallet, all things considered.

I just replaced the original plugs with the same NGK SILZFR7A9G at 42.5k miles. The attached pic is representative of the wear on àny of the 6. I'm thinking they would have lasted a lot longer. And, just for context, this is 2018 gt2 that is stock and driven somewhat conservatively with occasional more spirited driving.

Has nobody else had NGKs in their Stinger from the factory? Mine had some NGK plugs apparently, found that out after I had my HKS plugs put in.

A couple months late, but my 2021 Stinger GT1 had NGK 97976 SILZFR7A9G plugs when I swapped to HKS last year.

Kia learned. As i suspected they sold the 2018's with cold plugs causing misfires

So what is the 2.0 supposed to get? I tried looking at the NGK site but they said they do not have any plugs compatible with the 2.0 from 2018. I do not want to take my plugs out to see what has been in there, as I have heard that they changed their minds later anyway. I just wanted to get OEM but I am having a hard time tracking down what that should be now that adjustments have been made...like, say, a 2020 2.0 Premium might have a different OEM plug...anyone know?

Could call the dealer and just ask for a price on a set of plugs? Most of the parts guys ive dealt with over the years will tell you what plug it is too. Just a thought.

If i get a chance this weekend ill dig my stock ones out to see what they are.

Found this, it is interesting. Looks like they updated their plugs in 2020, so the 2018, 19, at least have older versions, which could be why people talk about misfire. I want to change mine because under load/high boost, I feel a sputter/skip normally inherent to plugs. This lists the same number that the OEM sites list, so even though it does not mention the Stinger, it is the same....

Still does not say the brand, but I guess I will just have to order this stock number.

It is all so frustrating though...even RockAuto, Autozone, Amazon, NGK itself, all say they do not have a replacement plug for the 2.0 premium, 2018!

You could always just go with the hks

So expensive...but really, isn't the HKS for racing applications, lots of mods, etc? I have kept my car stock except for the KN air intake.

They are pricey. Hopefully someone with a little more knowledge will chime in but im pretty positive you can run them stock. I've had no issues with my 18 premium when my uncle chip is disconnected. Ive also gotten a decent amount of miles out of them too. Again though thats my experiences with them.

Ill try and get over to storage to see what the stock ones were before i swapped out. Hopefully i can find em.
