Many years ago I mounted a spoiler on my Acura TL. I used the 3M tape supplied and I was meticulous about the prep & mounting-- it started to come loose in just a few months.
I removed it cleaned the spoiler and car and mounted the spoiler with E6000 adhesive (clear). It never once exhibited any sign of failure in the next 8 years when I sold the car.
I have mounted (& removed) other spoilers with E6000 also. The good thing is that you can remove any object you mount with E6000 and remove the cured adhesive from the paint with NO damage to the finish-- it's NOT easy and NO chemical solvents are needed-- you can rub & peel it off completely.
That E6000 stuff is removable??? It reads like it's basically glue...
