MY22 Aussie release date.

With the delivery dates in Australia being quoted as 6 months or more I am assumimg that a Stinger GT order placed in June will most likely be delivered as an MY22 model.

I am hoping that with production delayed due to semiconductor supply issues the factory might use this downtime to bring these changes forward to get the new logo out there. However, the opposite may also be true and the delays could result in it being pushed back. As I am keen to get a vehicle with the new Kia logo from the factory does anyone have any insight on when the MY22 Aussie Stinger will be released?

The schedule is ~Oct, but with the shipping delays etc. could likely move it. New models are design to getting the base to upgrade quicker FOMO, but if you can't build them fast enough, there is less urgency.

There is no law that says they have to update at a particular time.

BTW I have the MY21, and I kinda like having having the 'retro' logo on the new updated car.

Ouch, I ordered mine Dec 2020 and it was just delivered June 1st.

If it wasn't on that ship you're probably looking at another 3 months.

ouch i ordered end of nov 202 and got it in dec about a 2 week wait.

Received advice that my car's ETA to the dealership was 18/9/21 ????, having paid the deposit 27/11/20 that is approx. 305 days. make you wonder how much global manufacturers respect their market customers.

How would you know if you're getting the MY21 or MY22?
The Stinger version on the website still shows MY21, so if I ordered it now, wouldn't it be the MY21 delivered?

Information is that my22.Stinger production for Australian models is due to commence in Aug. So if you order now it should be delivered as my22 with new badging. You can also specify on your contract as a special condition that it is an my22 with the new badging. I have also heard a rumour that as the Stinger is being discontinued next year they may not change over the right-hand drive production line for the new the badging and instead continue on with the my21. We'll have to wait and see if the Stingers delivered in Sep/Oct arrive with new badging. I specified an my22 with new badging when I placed my order in May so I'll be really pissed if they skip this change for the Australian models.

Spoke to a Kia Dealer yesterday, he said the new KIA badge will come with all new orders.
And the only difference between the MY21 and MY22 is the new KIA Badge.

I was told the refresh MY21 was only a minor update, so buy now. Glad I did not listen.

hi all, new here but cant wait to get my GT and start doing some mods ...

I only ordered last week however the dealer had a cancelled order that was placed back in March 2021 so so far, 6 months wait, no production ETA so far.

anyone else with orders from March/April and have their cars already or at least a production date?

I know the wait is worth it but sheesh, its crazy long.

Just got a call from My dealer here in Western Australia and My Stinger is at the port now for the dealer to pick up I ordered a 2021 was given 2022 on the paperwork , He has not seen it yet so will not know if it has the new badges also it takes them 2 to 3 weeks to get the car ready if you have tint and any other add on's so its been 11 months now. The one thing he did say was the dealer portal still said its unscheduled so the portal may not be getting updated but he said there was only My Stinger and the two People that ordered before me got them last month. So it looks like a 11 month wait would be your expected delivery unless the chip shortage ends sooner.

Thanks for the info. I have seen photos of two others (both orange) delivered in Perth this week and both are MY22 with the new badges. Congratulations and it would have been a nice surprise when you weren't expecting it (especially after an 11 month wait).
