Muffler delete vs Catback...

Could you take a picture of your exhaust tips so I can see exactly how far they should come out.
I should be getting the car back from the body shop today so I'll snap a picture once I pick up the car.

I did the muffler delete last week and can add a little insight. It was well worth the mod IF you are wanting to hear more beautiful TT V6 noise and can handle the drone. There is some vibration+drone exhaust noise for sure at lower RPM when cruising, but if on the freeway I pop it in eco mode and it's nothing too bad. I'm also a 33 year old guy, so I love car sounds.. doesn't bother me at all. Considering it cost me $150 to straight pipe both sides total, well worth it.

It IS worst for passengers in the rear though. One night I rode in back so wife and mother in law were in front and the vibration from the rear axle area was far worse than stock and the drone was even louder (obviously closer to exhaust exit).

One negative side effect is with stock mufflers nobody messed with me, now a bunch of cars want to try to race because it caught their attention.
I had a delete on my GT2 for a few months before I picked up a borla set. It was like a different car with the muffler deletes. I got lots of attention, mostly people looking at me weird trying to figure out what car it was. The rest were race instigators. I honestly have never raced my stinger yet but am curious!

Has anyone done electronic exhaust cut outs?
I know a few people on here said they had them, but can’t remember who. Try a search and maybe you can find them.

I've had both a muffler delete (SSR Performance) and a catback (MBRP) on my car. The difference is night and day. I have the MBRP on it now and love it. The muffler delete was way too loud, caused vibrations all over the interior, droned horribly and caused headaches. sounded great outside, but it was unbearable inside. Would not recommend a muffler delete. But that's just my experience and opinion.

I'm doing the same thing, going from a delete to a MBRP system. I'm just done with all the drone! And the delete wasn't done very clean and the welding has leaks.

Sorry for the late reply, but I just replaced my 2.0 model's left muffler with a straight pipe and it sounds fantastic if you don't mind the reverberating drone mentioned later in the thread. There are two rear mufflers, one for each set of two exhaust tips, I just had them remove one and replace it with a single pipe going to one tip; it was cheapest doing it that way but it still gives a great waspy sound coming from the 2.0 model's TT.
Could We get a video to see how it sounds??

Is there just one pipe on each side now? Aka one of the exhaust tips on each side are essentially dummy tips now?

Yeah it would have cost like $50 more to have the dual tip added but it would essentially do the same thing because the flow is never even out of both tips so I opted for the cheaper option.

I had the same thing done Saturday but they put the pipe on the inner tips. I had them basically mirror your set up with the pipes sticking out a bit, but I kept my resonators on.

I’m finding a good amount of drone in sport mode. Are you completely drone free? It’s starting to bug me after only 4 days lol

Oh nice! I don't know if I'd say completely drone free but I find myself driving with no music most of the time because I love how it sounds. On the highway cruising around 80mph there is a "drone" but it's nothing that annoys me and nothing that minimal music can't cover up. What you and I consider drone might be different though. I consider anything that rattles your interior or deafens you to be drone. Anything else is just engine noise and I welcome it :)

I did a resonator delete on mine back in 2018, no real drone and gave the Stinger a much better sound. Its a cheap and quick upgrade for anyone looking for a better note but, doesn't want the car to become annoying.

I did muffler delete and like it just fine. Left the resonator because it keeps deeper tone I thought? Should I delete this too?

You won't gain any performance from swapping the resonators for straight pipes. Just will be louder and more raspy. So, it all depends on what you want.

Mine posting a video of your exhaust sound?

I modified my JunBL EVC to be a muffler delete with open valve, and stock quiet with closed valve.

There is no drone because I used aftermarket tips but the sound is really loud even in the cabin.

I'd love to hear 2.0L exhaust sounds from anyone who's deleted. I ordered mine and planning stuff while I wait.
