Has anyone had repeated damage with mice? Has anyone had luck with getting KIA warranty to replace the parts. Does anyone know why this keeps happening? How do we fight this?

I have a KIA Stinger 2020 and I got a check engine light a month ago. The dealer told me that they found a mouse nibbling but there was no engine damage to the car. I have been driving the car every day since then. I take the car to another dealership cause the check engine light comes up and they tell me there is a nest and that they have been nibbling at my wires? I heard that KIA does not protect their engine that well and all the parts are exposed. This car truly is shit if I have to stop mice from eating it.

please enlighten us as to why Kia would warranty rodent damage? Seriously??

first car?

how about invest in a cat.

rats.jpg Get this stuff and spray all exposed wires etc and around where you park , It cost me $350 to replace some chewed wires over a year ago ,I also bought a high frequency sound emitter for back up ......................the wires are coated with a natural material these little buggers enjoy ( soy based I believe ) most new cars including the Lux brands use them now ......................you know to make Greta happy !

Not just a Kia issue, anywhere mice exist there will be cases of them looking for nesting material and chewing on wires. Most cars have wires exposed somewhere in the engine bay a mouse can chew on.

This is exactly what my insurance adjuster told me. Soy based and those lil bastards like it. I had only had my car a week before i got rat attacked. It definitely sucks

If your insurance policy has comprehensive coverage, you can make a claim for damages. But if the repair is less than your deductible, then don't bother with a claim.

When cats stay, the mice are prey. That is my dictum and I'm sticking to it.
I put out some Alley Cat every day. At the moment, I have five cats that come around and vie for the snacks. I've seen kitty footy prints on my car, even on the windshield and rear of the hood: exactly where I saw a mouse tail disappear from the wiper well nearly a year ago, while exiting the freeway, if you can believe it!? Laid out four traps; only one got triggered twice: figured it was one of the kittens (back then: I think that "Oreo" and her(?) sibling the gray tabby in the pic are two of the three or four kittens of the "original mouser" that I attracted, their mom, an all black miniature "panther" :D; she couldn't take the competition and cleared off, but these two seem to have stuck around; or else I'm confusing them for her kittens of last summer); and I saw no more mouse "sign" after that damned wiggly tail disappeared below my hood. When I saw the kitty footy prints on my windshield and hood (in my carport), I laid out another trap next to the inside of my LF wheel; it got triggered once, and I figured it must have been a cat again. Anyway, if any mouse is ballsy or stupid enough to try, they are going to be 'et by one of these.

Yes Kia to blame for not using preventative measures against pest attack. You’re an idiot
 everyone deserves a chance 1st

Likely...to me it’s more people today need to blame others for everything that happens to them. Mice ate your wiring...why in the world would anyone expect a manufacturer to cover that? I scratched the leather on my front seat when I decided to drive around with a 70mm indexable drill resting on the seat....should I blame Kia for not being carbide resistant to scratches. Please.

If you are parked in your garage and not on the street, leave your bonnet up when you park. Mice and rats like the seclusion of the closed bonnet
