Kia is taking on giants with the Stinger. Priced below a BMW 3-Series and sized like a Lexus GS, the Stinger is aimed squarely at European sport sedans, and it has the European roots to back it up. Penned by former Audi design boss Peter Schreyer and developed by the former head of BMW M engineering Albert Biermann, the Stinger combines European sport sedan handling with Korean value.

Only it isn’t a sedan. It’s a hatchback in the mold of the Audi A5 Sportback or even the Porsche Panamera, a car that Kia has on its radar.

The Stinger is offered with a 255-horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder, but the car that makes our finalist list is the Stinger GT, the 365-horsepower brute that draws its power from a twin-turbocharged 3.3-liter V-6. Backed by an 8-speed automatic transmission that can be shifted manually, and offered with a choice of rear- or all-wheel drive, the Stinger GT is capable of a 4.7-second 0-60 mph sprint and a top speed of a 167 mph. Those are numbers worthy of the Audis, BMWs, and Mercedes this upstart Kia is attempting to challenge. Read more...

Thanks! This is an honest mistake from my part. When I posted the first news article here I posted the link to the article but the link somehow got deleted so I thought it was the norm not to post the link in this forum.

Otherwise - this is a nice 'pat on the back' for Kia. So far the Stinger is getting a lot of attention from the automotive press. I'm really getting anxious to see how things go once this car is released to the streets of America.

As an aside, that photo of the light colored interior is spectacular.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

Yes! I forgot to mention that. I planned on it after I read, "It all comes wrapped in an interior that looks upscale and comes with a lot of equipment at a bargain price". The interior does look really upscale in that light color...

Ugh, now the question is the upscale light interior, or the badass sporty red interior...

If that interior is available, it's got to be the slate gray color. If so, That's a nice combo look for it! Too many choices to make that we still don't know for sure are available!

I know what we need to do. We all need to plan a meet and greet party on or near release day so we can finally celebrate everything official about the car! I'll bring the beer! LOL Or maybe I'll bring Cherry Coke and Green Apple Crown Royal! Which I found on my trip to North Pole, Alaska, not only kept you warm at -50 degrees, it also tasted pretty damn good!

Doesn't surprise me, its a fun car to drive. I think the front of it is fugly though. So is the rear.

Also everyone that has one is complaining about blown head gaskets.

Fun to drive - my little bro let me drive his.
Fugly - I've seen it. :D
Engine problems - can't remember where, but I read some article the other day. They had references to a Reddit. Lots of people with coolant in a cylinder issues. From the Reddit it sounded like some people were getting all new engines, some just new heads.
