Great experience with Rick Spell at Moritz Kia Fort Worth. Called to see if I could test drive their GT2, and no problems at all even though it was raining on and off. No credit check or anything else to drive it. Showed up, drove the car, talked for a bit. Low pressure salesrep. Sent me the window sticker so I could look at it at my convenience.

No markup on any of their Stingers (but non-negotiable pricing). Pricing with the accessories matched the Kia site to the dollar. Picking up a red GT2 AWD tomorrow at sticker price. Currently they have a $750 rebate and $750 cash back as well, that they tell me applies to the Stinger (will update tomorrow if not the case).

If you go see these guys, ask for Rick and please message me to let me know you are going.

John

Awesome -- Are you leasing or purchasing? Wonder if that makes a difference with marking it up (if you plan to lease).

Purchasing, as I keep my cars a long time. They did not mention it mattering one way or the other, and also noted the lease cash.

That shouldn't matter, and in fact in some states it is illegal to charge a different amount based on how the car is financed. (California is one)

Some jeep place told me that they need to change the price so the finance company can approve me
Dumbest shit I've heard

For goodness sake, FINALLY another dealership in the "GREEN"! I'm so glad to hear you had a positive experience at Moritz Kia. Thank you very much for sharing this information. I hope all goes well tomorrow!

Happy to report the experience was great right up through driving off the lot. The only surprise was that the rebate/ cash back was tied to a higher interest rate. I hadn't been told that. I gave it up for a lower rate. Go see Rick if you're in the DFW area.

So you have your Stinger! That was quick! Great! I'm sure you'll post pictures later. :) So the cash back rebate is only when you have a higher interest rate. Interesting. Okay. Taking it all in...

I have purchased 3 cars from this Moritz dealership in Fort Worth. They are wonderful! I leased my Pearl White Stinger GT1 RWD w/ Red interior last week. It was right off the truck on Tuesday afternoon and they had it ready and great window tint by Wednesday afternoon. Let me drive a GT2 home that night since I had to leave my Cadenza there. I got a good discount off of the sticker price. I test drove a new 2018 Cadenza and the Stinger. Both are excellent, but the Stinger is fun, I like power cars, so maybe I will drive more now. "Highly" recommend this dealership. Ask for Carlos Sanchez or Dejan Siljegovic. (I bought two previous cars from Dejan, but he was selling a car when I walked in) I will buy more cars from them in the future.

Thank you for the information, @ValerieC! Much appreciated! Welcome to the community! And congratulations on your brand new Stinger GT!

just bought one from there and used Rick as well. After much negotiation he was able to get to the numbers I wanted. They do have wiggle room as far as price goes. He was trying to sell me the car over sticker price and over the internet price that got me in the door. After calling their bluff as well as the sales manager they bugged. He was a great sales rep but to high pressure for me.

High pressure and I walk. They are given one shot at a low bid and I let them know I'm shopping around. Difference between one dealer and the one I bought from was about $10,000 (counting the $7,000 rebate they failed to mention.) Thieves.

i did not back down. I went in and told them I was shopping around and what I was expecting. Ended up walking out because they were playing games. they would call every day and I would tell them where I stood and where they needed to be to get my business. Ended up getting there after holding my ground.

Glad it worked for you. I hate it when dealers seem to think that THEY have to work so hard to avoid giving a fair price, waste their time and your time, and then finally agree to be reasonable in the end. Why the hell didn't they offer you a fair price to start and save everyone the time and sweat? I hate salesmen I don't know and I hate nothing more than the petty game they play running back and forth to the sales manager playing "let's make a deal" because they don't have the authority to make offers themselves. It's an obsolete system that needs to eliminate the middle-man (er, person.)

My last few cars were bought over the internet (email) or phone. It's easier to walk away from a dealer offer if you are not sitting in the showroom. I get all the information I need to make a decision, then make them an offer. Works for me. Also, I look for the car I'm interested in dealer inventory and work with them, even if I have to travel up to 100 miles to close the deal. I find you can make a better deal if they have the car rather than locate it.

I have always ordered mine. If you buy a car on the lot and it is over 90 days old (used to be 90 when I worked at a dealership), the dealer is beginning to pay the factory interest on their cost which they must recover because it raises their net cost. In addition, by ordering from the factory you usually can work directly with the sales manager and bypass the salesman. The sales manager will still credit one of his salesmen for his (unearned) commission, but since it doesn't take time away from any salesman, the amount is minimal. Working online can accomplish the same thing. Only if you insist on driving the car and spending a salesman's time should you work with one. I've never test-driven a car in the past 35 years before I bought it -- always trust the pros to tell me what to expect.

Usually I work the numbers out with a manager online, could be a internet manager, but not always. I think it depends on the size of their internet department. The first thing I do when arriving at their dealership is to inspect the car and drive it. All that is left is the Finance guy. I didn't think you could order a Stinger from the factory? In any case, I don't wait well for the time it takes to order and receive a ordered car. I would think the manager's first priority would be to move an inventory car. The last time I ordered cars was in the 50's and 60's from Chevy. After ordering one of the first 409's I received a build date (normally the week of build) and went to the factory in Flint. Saw a bunch of 409's on the floor but did not get to see my car. Factory assembly was interesting though.

You can't order a custom build from the Kia factory -- at least not in the U.S. What I did was to spec out one that I knew was in the pipeline but that had not been "picked" by any dealership, so it was shipped from the port lot. The whole idea is to avoid buying any car that has accumulated extra expense from floor plan interest. If you can find one on the dealer lot that way, great, but how do you know? And, yes, dealers want to avoid paying that interest so they try to keep cars "fresh" on the lot. What you want to avoid is a car that has been sitting on the showfloor and had the battery drained flat which affects long term life, or a car that has been test-driven by people who just want to see how fast it really is and couldn't care less about proper break-in. I personally would never, ever, buy a test car or demo. My GT2 had 4 miles on the odometer when it hit the ground and I was in the car when the technician made the mandatory test drive. If I'm paying a new price, I want a NEW car.
