Mileage

Question, do you have a yellow car?
Have you thought about "investing" in PPF?

I've had my ppf on my Stinger since purchased brand new. 2 years later and it still looks good. I've used it on my last car as well. If you keep your car for a long time it's definitely worth it. My last car was a 2007 but the bumper looked almost brand new. The ppf even saved my paint when the idiots at Safelite parked the car into a boulder. When I redue the front end and bumper on the Lightning I plan on covering it all in PPF as well.
Ceramic silver. About 30k miles.
I ceramic coated the car when new and it made it super easy to clean. Would definitely do again.
How much did you pay to PPF the front of your car?

Hmmmm, I think it was in the $300 range? I didn't do the entire front end, just the front bumper and the edge of the hood. I coulda got the entire hood and both front fenders done too (probably should've). Normally I don't like seeing a big ol line across the hood for the ppf but I had em do it so it lines up with where the bumper and fenders meet so it's not bad.

2022 GT2, bought new Nov 2021 - 12,000 miles.

Problems - 2 overboosts resulting in limp-mode when the outside-temp was in the teens.

Absolutely LOVE the car, and everyone thinks it looks great!

I'm pretty bummed they're discontinuing it as I would have certainly bought the next upgrade.

This is pdgunner I now have 144512 miles with only oil changes and tire rotation and balance 2 1800 mile trips with grandson, no problems to speak of.
Well now I have 179437 miles and started having low oil pressure light come on only at stop lights and signal light have contacted dealer he suggested I take to kia dealer to diagnose and if its internal problem they would apply the 20 year 200000 miles warranty and fix it... will provide more when I get it looked at...

Is it the 3.3 engine? I've never heard of this 200k miles warranty :)

Did you ever take it to the dealer to have them look at it, or at least report the overboost issue?
Apparently, there are several reports on this forum alone of the 2022+ models being susceptible to this problem, and unless enough people complain, they will do nothing.

Yes, I reported it to the dealership as soon as it happened and they entered it in my record. When I brought it in to change the oil, they checked my record and said that they'll take a look at the overboost issue - but they found nothing wrong.

I wonder if the issue is due to using 2 different ways to measure air entering the engine - boost, and, the mass of air entering the engine?

For example, the wastegate is controlling boost, the amount of resistance to flow. And because it's so cold, the air is denser thus boost records lower, thus allows more mass of air to enter, in order to hit the proper target boost number.

However, downstream, the mass of air is not measured by boost/resistance, but by a MAF or MAP sensor which measures the actual mass of air, and they're registering greater than expected mass of air entering the engine, and as a result, the ECU throws the overboost condition.

Pure speculation of course...

The BOV does not measure anything.
It is not a sensor.

Hopefully dealer can eventually sort it out for you

Thank you, that's what I get for rushing...

I've edited the post.

Holy shit 180k miles is bonkers for a twin turbo engine. Surely you will run into something soon. Do you plan to keep the car for much longer?

I plan to keep it until the wheels fall off,, Onlynproblem know isthe oil lighrt comes on at RPM btwn 600 and tuns off at RPM 700+ Dealer wants 5hrs labor at $150.00 hr to diagnose im doing my own check of the problem will update on results later, Engine runninf fine no oil pressure problems thinking its a short in center console ?

Following the footsteps of @PD_Gunner1999 here, just hit 121000 miles, '19 GT2. Switched to high mileage pennzoil recently since I noticed a little bit of oil consumption, hope it conditions the seals as promised : ) no engine issues, just regular maintenance. Very happy with occasional CRC GDI cleaner procedure every now and then, very smooth idling. Having around 400 miles of range on highway in one full tank. Changed transmission pan filter and fluid around 110K with amsoil, looked like stinger is very easy on trans oil, I think having a trans oil cooler helps. Diff fluids were also in good condition when checked around 55K but some metal was caught in the magnetic tap normally from break in. Rotors and pads are a must change item for these model year of stingers. Replaced sparks at around 95K, used the stock ones to the extreme : ) replaced with HKS M45iL, very happy. Got tired of keeping two sets of tires, summer and winter, and with the temp fluctuations around, it was a nightmare, so bridgestone potenza AS from costco is such a creature comfort, they are not a michelin but pretty decent performance around fast curves. Thinking about it may be the time for a battery change but the voltage is around 12.6, cranks like new, so I will see how far it will hold. Definitely sad for this significant design and engineering work of art lose the ground to something with hideous proportions called 'ev6' but hopefully stingers will age gracefully. Definitely many thanks to Peter Schreyer and Albert Biermann and all the CK project.

Your port is great news for second and third hand purchasers.

I couldnt agree more that the EV6 is not worthy to carry the torch from the Stinger. The Stinger without doubt will be a timeless design, it has great curves and proportions that will stand the test of time whereas the EV6 looks gimicky and designed to follow trends which are likely to go out of style. I guess for us guys that plan to hold onto them we will have something special that will be a rare sight on the roads. I'm happy it's a shared platform with Genesis as that should help keep parts less scarce.

Take your car to Batteries Plus, or a parts store that sells batteries, and have them test your battery for you. Even though your battery shows 12.6v, it may be weak and not able to deliver all its cold cranking amps. Better to catch it now and replace it (..if bad) versus getting stranded somewhere when it does go.

Agree 100% - the Stinger is an absolute beauty of a car! I smile every time I open the garage door.

I would have for sure bought the next Stinger upgrade - but I am not buying any type of electric car, so Kia has lost a future customer with me.

The current state of the used car market is crazy.

I realize that, but there's crazy and insane.

At close to 200K miles, what do you figure is the remaining life expectancy of the car. Even if it is all highway miles, there's still transmission wear, chassis/suspension wear, etc.

How well are kias known for getting 300-400K miles....

Sorry but 200k is not that much. An almost new engine is maybe 5k. Transmission and suspension will last forever if taken care of.
A driven car is sometimes better than a car that has been stored or only used for short distances.
I still have a 2009 VW Passat 2.0TDI (the famous engine which was supposed to be "clean") with 245k miles on it and it still runs absolutely fine. Had no major issues with it. My father drives it every other day.
Yes, maybe 20k $ is too much for the specs and milage of that Stinger but it should still be fine for another 100k miles on the same engine.
