Michelin Pilots or Bridgetstone WeatherPeak?

Hi all, hoping people who have done this can offer up some advice. I have an offer to either get the BS WeatherPeak or the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S at the same price (normally the Michelin costs more). At first I was thinking, sure go for Michelins...but I live in the Northeast with snow and ice so the WP is a contender, with its 3-peak certification and 70K mileage warranty (Michelin is only 45K).

Has anyone had any experience with either of these tires...have any recommendations? Thanks!

My problem is that I rarely need actual SNOW tires, I just need something that will work when it's below freezing yet doesn't fall completely down when the temperatures climb into the 50s. In past, I've always used an "all-weather" tire like the Nokian WR as a winter tire, but I can't seem to find an all-weather tire that comes in the stock 19" staggered sizes. Last year i used Michelin X-ICE briefly, but they got all squirmy as soon as we got our first warm day.

A/S tires, if good ones can do great in snow and ice. Have lived through winters in ME, NH, MA, etc and can attest to this. However, the new rating of the triple-peak means that the tires are certified to go even further in ice and snow. They are talking about making them mandatory in some states as OE because they are that good. The BS Weatherpeak has that certification and has a much longer warranty. However, I know that the Michelins are good tires too...but lower mileage and not certified for triple-peak. But if they ride better, handle better, etc, then I would go with those. Has anyone had experience with either tire?

Does anyone have any experience with the Vredestein Wintrac Pro? It is one of the tires that TireRack is recommending as a winter tire, but looks to be more oriented towards dry cold rather than deep snow.

I was looking at that one too...but the deal I got from Costco was just too good.
