So I currently have a stinger gt2 AWD and am trying to get some gurgles and pops while also having the best performance possible. I’ve been mostly looking at the JunBL downpipes ans catbacks as i’ve heard very nice things about them, but am also considering the borlas catback system. I’ve also noticed that with the Junbl’s systems, the evc gets about 30hp gain and the race gets a bit more with the gt version getting around 39hp gain. out of these, if anyone could help me out, which one should i choose if i want pops and gurgles along with performance? I don’t care much about drone and actually enjoy it so that’s not a worry for me. Along with all of that, i’ve also heard that the junbl’s have slightly less loudness compared to the borlas, but i’ve also seen that the borlas don’t seem to have as much performance so i’m not sure if i really want the borlas if i want the best performance of all. even if they are louder, i’m really just looking for at a minimum pops gurgles and some head turning sound with some crazy hp gains as i’ve said before. also i’m sort of new here so excuse that but what is everyone’s opinions and reviews and suggestions for me at this point?

By your description and things you are looking for in an exhaust.

I think the Tubi Style is a great candidate. Lots gurgles and some pops when you have valves open. Sounds amazing with and without the valve open and Drone is not bad.

You can also control the valves via your phone through the Tubi app.

I may be mistaken but I don’t believe any of the normal catbacks with give you much “pops & gurgles”. That typically comes from a custom built catback exhaust or straight muffler deletes(MD). I can tell you from personal experience a MD will give you lots of pops & gurgles and I love my sound and performance! I personally think MD sounds better than any catback I’ve heard so far, with the MBRP being the closest to it.

As for loudness I believe the Borla is known for the loudest catback and adding any secondary DP with increase that by another 20-30%. Drone will be extreme but if you don’t care that would be the second best compared to a full MD.

As for HP gains I believe you’re way off and most exhausts only give 10-15whp gains and no were near 30-39hp. Most exhaust manufacturers don’t even claim HP gains because the mufflers are the biggest restriction besides removing the cats. Full catless turboback exhausts make up to ~40whp peak and UP highflow primary & catless secondary DP combo makes 33whp peak and 46whp@6250rpm.

That’s the most you’ll get from exhaust so unfortunately your 30-39hp from a catback is unrealistic and must be heavily inflated. Sorry to hurt your dreams but hope that helps and happy tuning!

I see i see. no dreams damaged just need to keep up my research. I’ve seen that the GT version of the JunBL exhaust says that it nets 39hp, so you believe that isn’t true? Just wondering so i can know what’s being inflated and what’s not. Also, another question, how much hp does the borla exhaust net? thank you for your suggestions and opinions, and i wish fun and safe driving for everyone! :)

excuse all of my questions but do you believe a custom titanium downpipe could create a deeper roar even if it was combined with say some junbl evc catbacks with the valves opened?

The JunBL is very quite as is even when the valves are open. Adding a down pipe will increase the sound but not by much as the rear mufflers quite down the tone a lot and will also add a lot of rasp to the sound.

FYI: yes I have heard the JunBl in person.

have you perchance heard the UP mid and catback setup? it seems to also have some promising hp gains.

I have not heard that one yet.

However if you are looking at exhausts based on their claimed performance gain, then you are going at it wrong. Cat back exhausts will add a certain amount hp and torque. How much? Hard to tell as there is not enough stingers out there with an aftermarket catback system, even less owners that have dyno'ed their Stingers after each mod installed.

Right now your best bet is to assume that a catback will net you the standard 12-5HP and base your exhaust search on how good it sounds to you.
The biggest gains you can get on the exhaust is by replacing the primary cats with either straight piping or HFC.

I have the Ark catback and it added exactly what you're looking for, gurgles and pops when slowing down and even that 'belch' when shifting from 1-2 in sport mode. After I added the SSR pipes, everything got even louder. Never dynoed the thing but it definitely got faster with just the exhaust (dragy verified), and even moreso with the SSRs.

ahhhh i see now. I know some guys that make amazing exhaust systems and general builds and tuning for many cars, and i’m thinking of going to them for some titanium straightpipes or maybe some high flow cats because i don’t want it so loud that i’m awakening my neighbors at ungodly hours of the night. i’ve also seen videos of these such exhausts on other cars and they sound like hell risen and i love it, so i can just imagine it on the stinger. would this be the thing that i should be looking for if i want pops and crazy good performance?

i was actually just about to ask about the ark catbacks. i noticed that the number 1 1/4 mile time here in the forum is a stinger with ark catbacks and some ssr midpipes (among other high tier mods) but what i was looking at is that exhaust. i also saw somewhere that the ark performance is very loud and that videos don’t do it justice. I’m thinking once i get my jb4 and set it up along with whichever exhaust system i get (custom HFC or straightpipes or the ark system depending on whether i wanna take the risk of getting fined due to the horrific sound laws in my state) thank you for your personal input and experience from this and happy driving to you. also thank you robz32 for your input it was all deeply appreciated as i’m pretty new here and have only had my stinger since november-ish.

Secondary DPs do add a deeper note/roar and slightly more sound overall. Primary DPs add a deep but loud raspy & almost tinnier sound to the point most people don’t like it. Torks and my buddy’s full down pipes, catless exhaust is hard to describe but here a clip.
It does have a nice Maserati type scream but my buddy told me the rasp drove him crazy and had to put mufflers & resonators back on to live with it.

Not sure if titanium materials would make the DPs sound any different, but hope that helps.

Jonny Tig has a 4" single setup that includes primary downpipes. I imagine it pops and gurgles...
i was actually originally going to get the JT exhaust but when i saw the price of shipping.. it scared me a little bit and also no one really has any clips of his exhaust so that also worries me a tad but thank you

Same as I quoted above. About 30-40whp peak going full catless with basically straight pipes. He’s running ~450whp/500wtq with JB4(only on map2!), intakes & turboback exhaust.

now that’s.. that’s just beautiful. which intakes is he using? i was thinking about getting the JT intakes because of the beautiful reviews and gains and the fact that it isn’t too bizarrely loud. how many decibels does he get with that exhaust? i gotta be careful in my state because i have an old porsche 944 2.0 without mufflers and got picked up in it once for how loud it was.

He’s using the k&n typhoons, but almost all intakes including DIY versions(~$100) make about the same 15-25whp. JT and SSR probably make the most, but likely not noticeably different.

Not sure on the decibels but it’s really loud removing all 4 cats. He put resonators & mufflers back on because it was too loud.

So I have the Tubi midpipe/EXCU exhaust. Couldn’t agree more! Had it for a year and still love it. There are four modes via remote control and an APP (iOS and Android). With the intakes, downpipes and this exhaust it sounds exotic...unlike any other that I’ve heard. Plus you can really get into adjusting valve opening and closing with the APP.

It’s expensive and most would say not worth it. But, it was worth it to me — the mufflers are very close to and based off the Ferrari 599 system that they sell.

All my opinion!

sorry to bother about this again, but how can i get in contact with him if i’m interested in his turboback exhaust? i think i might go for his and just get the mufflers back on there if it’s too loud and i end up getting pulled over. gotta love the laws around here but those hp gains are really just so attractive

He’s not on the forum but it’s not his own turboback. He has the lap3 primary DP & junbl secondary DPs and a custom catback from a local shop. You can get the same DPs for the 30whp+ and just keep the stock mufflers on to test the sound first.
