I heard but cannot confirm that the reason the official Kia page lists Sunset Yellow and the LSD as optional on the GT model but not GT1 is that there's going to be a special edition Base GT in Sunset Yellow with the LSD upgrade, limited to 400 models. Has anyone on here heard this anywhere and know any details especially in terms of pricing?

Edit: Ahh yes, the new build page confirms that it also bundles in all the driver assistance nanny stuff. Damn.

I wish they would offer the Sunset Yellow for the GT2

I wonder why they aren't. And maybe that's just a temporary thing...
I thought someone already solved this mystery. Someone had a screenshot of a text from a Kia representative saying the colors were added but then removed from the Stinger build page to reflect stock that was actually available in the first shipment to America, and that Yellow and that dark chroma blue whatever would be added in once there were actual units of that color available here? And that was also why different interior options weren't available yet, because those are the only combos sent in the first wave.

It probably has been and I'm just being forgetful...

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
When I checked with my dealer he told me they are going to charge a $5k premium on the Sunset Yellow because of being only a limited run.

Nah, When I heard that I decided my other choices were good enough.

What if you were to just say exactly that? "The yellow is nice - but not $5000 nice. What can you do for me?"...

I may give it a try. I'm not one that enjoys the haggling process. My last 2 cars and my wife's most recent I did everything via internet and email and only had to show up for the paperwork. The paperwork still took half a day or more sitting in the dealership in each case and the first 2 times they were still trying to change the deal after they got me in the door. I'd be fine being able to just order things over the internet, except that without all of the dealerships, we'd lose tons of sponsors for the local youth sport teams and all of the other benefits local businesses provide.

Try sending out a few emails to different dealerships - all in the same email. Get a feel for who's going to give you the best deal and who feels honest. It can't hurt to try...

It's a base GT RWD no sunroof, no HUD, no nappa leather. I forget what else they don't have but it's not the GT2 trim in AWD. So do I wait for a limiited edition in the GT2 AWD trim? I think that will be a longer wait. Maybe the Orange, more Sunset Yellow, Deep Chroma Blue...hmmm.

without the panoramic sunroof it'll be a good amount lighter. honestly i think you'll only appreciate the nappa leather early on and never really notice it day in and day out with your car. you're going to feel it with your hand once or twice and then your pants are going to experience its suppleness. :p i think i'll be going for rwd as i don't need or want the added weight of awd. plus there's launch control so i don't need it for performance reasons either.

I can confirm that not all dealerships will receive the Sunset Yellow and the ones that do you receive it, will only receive one. There are more than 750 dealerships in the US. Pricing isn't available nor the trim its available in. From what I can tell, expect it to see it by March at the latest (could have Feb deliveries) at the lucky dealer nearest you.

Pricing WAS available in that brief 24-hour period where the Yellow GT appeared on Kia's build site but then got removed. I can't remember now but I want to say it was something like 41k and change? Had the LSD and the DriveWise included. Makes sense since the DriveWise is 2k on its own. I'm sure by virtue of it being limited there will be dealers trying to mark it up though.
