Drag/Acceleration Launching at the drag strip?

I suspect that was a mild brake snip run but could be wrong. Don't think I've seen 1.8s from an un snipped piggyback even in AWDs. Either way that's a nice 60.
What are your best times now with all the mods?

That’s a good 60’ time with just using launch control. Have you messed with the brake snip mod at all?
I did last year with the stock tires but i was spinning. It was later in the year and at night so it was somewhat cold.

It was definitely lc, tried the brake snip and didn't grip with the stock tires. Now i have drag radial but I've only gotten to the track once this year (it was hot) so far and 60's were in the 1.8s using the brake snip but I didn't really get a chance to dial it in. Each time I went there was a legit drag car in the other lane and that really messed me up lol.

What rpm are you guy launching at with the brake snip?

Are RWD cars seeing the 1.8 60fts on street tires? I figured it would really help the AWD guys, I’m just curious how it responds on the RWD. If there’s too much spinning, etc.
Depends on what you call a street tire lol. I have sport cup 2 rear tires and was able to pull a 1.72 60’ rwd

lol yea I mean anything other than drag radials/et streets type tire.

how are you launching with the brake snip? Rpms? Tire pressure? Heating up the tires?

im assuming you have to pedal it off the line or you would get a bunch of wheel spin?

I turn off all tc and sc. do a burn out till mid third gear. Tires are roughly 18-20 psi. Launching at 2900 rpm with 14 pounds of boost. Pedal Is to the floor the entire time. I have a video, log, draggy, and track slip of it all. At a 5000 da back half sucked with a 12.09 but also didn’t have wmi back then

edit- plus I’m on 20” wheels and they are just as heavy as stock, maybe worse. My car is a g70 not a stinger. From what I’ve read it’s much much easier to get the g70 to launch hard cause we don’t have auto start/stop

Some of my best launch had some spin. AWD in the damp often hits better 60s than dry. Your spin prob let the boost raise boost faster and gave you a good 60.
I mostly use LC which is 3450. Snip hits 2800-2900. In beast mode I let off at 2500 which takes only 1/4 second of brake boosting.

You guys have lc set at 3450? That’s insane lol

Are you saying the brake snip is more consistent with the G70 with no auto start /stop? I think the GT2s with drive by wire are even more inconsistent than the GT and GT1 with cable shift.
Mine is terribly inconsistent , hardly usable since the weak brake snip is slower than LC and you don't know how to launch if you don't know how the brake snip will react.

good info, thanks!

Ya I believe it is. I had three runs in a row and each time I was able to get a 1.7x. I have all the slips at home somewhere. And from what I’ve read too I think the g70 is actually like 100-200 pounds lighter when you compare trim to trim. I have the fully loaded model rwd and it’s 3774 curb weight.

We need to sit around and wait for the auto stop light to flash on the dash and then you might get the strong launch for a few launches and at some point it reverts to lameness.

I’ve never had this “beast mode” flashing auto stop light happen that I’ve heard of. Does happen when using LC or on the break snip?

I’ve kinda been reading that. There is another launch an awd g70 figures out and he was even quicker than me to 40 and my rwd didn’t catch him until 50. But he isn’t using the snip

This is using the brake snip. For me brake snip is 3 PSI and 2500 RPM and beastmode is 8-15 PSI and 2900 RPM. I dont let it go above 8 if i can help it as it just blows the tires off.

When you have the brake snip done you are not using the LC though correct? Isn’t it disabled?

I assumed when using the brake snip your are basically brake boosting at about 1/4 to 1/2 throttle off the line to get the rpms up around 2800-3000? In order to avoid the LC restricted 2200 rpm.

Correct, with no brake signal there is no LC. Break snip for me will go up to 2900 and stop even at full throttle. The weaker brake snip used to go to 2900 but lately has been 2450 and 3 psi just like my LC but the throttle opens much slower with the weak brake snip.

Ok that makes sense. So basically, even with the brake snip, you are launching the same way? Holding the brake with the gas pedal to the floor?
