Took my stock GT rwd to the track tonight. Best pass was 12.9 @ 107. Couldn’t cut anything better than a 2.0 60’. Any suggestions? Tried both using launch control and without it. FBC7A3BB-DBEA-4E67-B6D7-4C79A1138B89.webp

More tire and boost...Not a bad ET for a stock GT.

plan on a jb4 down the road, but just wish I could build more boost off the line. Car doesn’t seem to like that idea though. Figure if I could shave a tenth or 2 off the 60’ i might be able to get closer to a 12.7 or so.

Could always try dumping weight with a spare tire and back seat delete ect.

Look up "burnout switch."

so messing with the burnout switch there is talk about a "beast mode" where the auto start stop light will flash orange, I got my switch all set up and after 2 attempts the car took off burning all 4 tires I'm AWD and it threw me back in my seat, the light was flashing and every launch I did after that (3 since I'm testing to go to the track 2morro) was hard AF. I turned off the ignition and restarted the car light off and the car still did build boost for launch but noting like the "beast mode" this is insane, I also did a combo of ebrake and foot brake to see if I could get a harder launch(not too hard of course) and found this to work well but I will see when I get out to the track this weekend but its supposed to be 94 degrees boo!

Just be careful on the awd. Bunch of people have issues If you hold the brake to long, like 3 secs and above

1/2 second is all you need in beast mode. Weird thing about Beastmode is after a few launches it can go back to the limp snip mode even while the "A" is still flashing. Turn the car off and back on and wait for the flash and the beast will be back.

car ran great but I only got 2 passes in before I threw a misfire cylinder 2 code... I ran 12.9 both passes but the second pass had a 1.8 60 (keep in mind this is only my second time at the track with the stinger) 3rd pass was a 13.4 and I got warned to wear a helmet, and on pass 4 it was done lol 14.5 and car cut all power once it sensed the misfire. car is fine I drove it back to my shop and scanned it that's all it had was a history code once I cleared it seems to be fine I only drove it a handful of times since then so I have it in the garage so I can check the plug in #2 (I ride a bicycle to work so no rush for me)

12.978 sounds about right for what I expect to be pretty hot and humid since your slip is from a part in Florida. Being near sea level helps, but hot and humid does not. I don't think you'll pull any harder without mods or more tire, as others noted.

From the other posts, interested to see Beast Mode. I haven't been following much of the modding since I got rid of the Stinger, very interesting. My BMW definitely comes off the line a whole lot harder than my Stinger ever did, and it is stock. I wonder if the E-brake launch would work on my car, it has a manual e-brake! Might give it a try, I forgot about that trick in the Stinger lol.

Yea, summer heat/humidity is not the best time to get low times in FL. But, my thought is if I can cut that 60ft down a tenth or two it will shave at least that, if not a little more up top. I’ve messed around with the ebrake launch too but that doesn’t seem to help. Might play with the brake mod just to see how it helps.

Typically reducing your 60ft will equal 1.5x that amount at the end of the strip, so they say. 255 isn't a lot of tire on the Stinger, I had 275 wide Pilot Super Sport on my '15 Mustang and that really struggled to grip on a prepped track, even with a 2500 rpm launch that started around 1/2 throttle. The brake snip mod might just produce more tire spin for you lol.

Yea I’m sure I will have to pedal it, but it has to be better than the lack of power off the line without it.

Yeah I should be honest, I haven't driven a RWD Stinger (all Canadian Stingers are AWD), I don't know how the RWD launches. IMO, the AWD Stinger has a rather soft launch considering it is launch control. If I were to try to nail down the difference between the Stinger and what I have now, I think the new car actually builds boost on launch control, it even launches at only 2200rpm like the Stinger, but it feels so much harder. Maybe building some boost might help for you. If not, I guess you'll find out in the rear view mirror as you roast the tires! lol

The brake snip will drop your 60 foots from 2.0 to 1.7 pretty easily. Some people hit 1.6 on a prepped track with all the mods. On the street 1.71 is the best so far.

Are RWD cars seeing the 1.8 60fts on street tires? I figured it would really help the AWD guys, I’m just curious how it responds on the RWD. If there’s too much spinning, etc.

1.9 on a prepped track with street tires is the best I've seen for RWDs.

Im RWD and was in the 1.8s on a prepped track, stock tires. I believe I was using launch control, JB4 map 3, reduced boost in 1st/2nd. Ive had several 1.8s but never anything below that.

That’s a good 60’ time with just using launch control. Have you messed with the brake snip mod at all?
