So the sound I posted in my video only happens when using launch control. It does not happen without launch control. Now it might also do it if I did brake boost or the parking brake launch.
My car's done that when I launch since having an exhaust. I haven't launched with the JB4 yet because in my experience cars are more enjoyable on the road than they are in the ditch, but when it warms up and traction comes back in the spring I may see if it still does it.
LC isn't really *Launch Contol. They control everything. All you're doing is turning off TC and SC. Any modern car gives you that option. KIA tricks us into thinking we're getting something really cool and, fast but its nothing, really. They have us go through a hallowed sequence like NASA but it's a joke. Try this... leave the car in D, light brake... then smash your pedal as fast as you can and go! Your 1-2 shift will be exactly the same. Theres no such thing as LC Mode per se, your car isn't in a mode and your drive train operates in the exact same manner. The only thing that will happen differently is how the car handles tires breaking loose with TC and SC off.

I agree with you, no boost builds and it does feel the same for the most part between using the LC and not. However something is different between using it and not. Like I had previously mentioned. with both levels of traction and stability control off, the throttle cuts at around 6k rpm giving it that satisfying sound going into second.
