Coins are a lil tight right now. Didn’t want to go the JB4 route not because of any specific reason but just perfer Lap3 overall instead. I’ve heard nothing but good news about Lap3 tunes and their piggy back systems after reading reviews and emailing them. I understand the pro tuner is a piggyback. With this piggyback system I only plan to run 93 octane. I will grab the pro tuner for now and then maybe sell it down the line for an ecu tune. My question is I’ve heard ppl state the pro tuner ALMOST feels like an ecu tune. Will it be better to just get the pro tuner and call it a day or try both. The price difference between the two is pretty considerable. Pro tuner $1000 . Ecu tune anywhere from $2000-$2500 with all the bells and whistles. I’m leaning more toward the pro tuner but would there be a significant increase in between the two ? I’m only looking for a solid 400whp and with this pro tuner I feel it’s easily reachable. Thanks

Pro tuner is great due to the availability of multiple maps, but ecu tune will be faster, smoother and more options. I have tried both, currently on their meth tune the last year, amazing

I was looking to upgrade later but wanted to try the pro tuner but I might just hold off then and save. I was looking into getting the stage 1.5 ecu tune. That smooth part I love so I hold off. Thanks

If budget is tight, why go further in your pockets for lap3 products when a second hand jb4 or even new is $300-500 to easily achieving 400whp? Once you want more, then go lap3.

How long did you have the pro tuner for ?

Still shaky about the JB4 from my last experience. Not saying it won’t work but for me at least I want to go another route and don’t mind being patient for once

Curious as to your Shakey JB4 experience.
I bought mine used for 350 bucks. Bought new HKS plugs. Installed it and sent one email to BMS to unlock it because of second hand purchase and its had me pushing 450 HP in 3 logs running E30 or 93 O on map 3/4
I have had nothing but great results for less then 500 bucks.
Easily the most plug and play piece of Kit if bought for anything more complicated then a wired Mouse.

Glad the JB4 piggyback is solid. I had one on my q50 rs and the trans ended up locking out. JB4 was off at the time of the incident. Still have that in the back of my mind and a lot of guys on the q50 forum ran them without any problems. I know this is a new different car but still hesitant. Does the JB4 come with the Bluetooth and fuel wires ? All you have to purchase from there is the pnp wires ? The JB4 complete system consist of ? I know it was some add ons you have to get it to make sure everything is ok

I can say I have been running the Lap3 2.5 Protuner with 100% Meth for more then a year now, and have had 0 issues with it. I have done short and long drives, never a problem. Plus David is here in our area and is super helpful and responsive. Wait until after we meet, take a look at my setup. :)

Ah I see. You definitely have to put me in touch with David and meet him. I have to make sure I make the install meet now at your house to see your setup and discuss. Decisions , decisions, decisions I tell you.

Come out to Cars and Coffee at Dulles Landing on Sunday mornings. I am almost always there (quite a few Stingers every Sunday), and David regularly comes as well. We also do C&C in Leesburg, as well as other evening meet ups.

I’ll come out this Sunday and hang with you all then. The last event I went to with Paulie who I met through the fb groups we went to xcal cars and coffee right by the top golf out va by dullles.

As far as piggybacks go JB4 has more maps, better features, easier install/removal, higher log sample rate, etc, etc. And it's a great addition to any flash map should you decide to flash down the road.

Still have it (but only use it for meth control). Now I'm on 2.5 ecu for the last year and a half.
Sheesh you moving out here my boy. The consensus of what ppl are telling me is to do the Lap3 ecu tune as it feels like the car was supposed to come like that form factory and faster and smoother .

Whatever stage you choose, it'll be impressive. Amongst the lap3 members I know, they've tried the major brands: Tork and jb4, all iterations. Don't be fooled by cheap pricing. Sure, you'll save some good cash, but it won't be as smooth or as reliable as lap3.

Speaking my language smooth and reliable . No piggyback can beat that . I’ll probably go for the 1.5stage when I’m ready

im super late, im curious on what route you decided to go. Im in the same shoe as you.
i have intakes, catless DP, snorkels, and intercooler.
I think getting the V2.5 pro tuner is the best option for me but im so clueless still if i need to do anything else or do i just get that, attach it, and im done? ?
