First off, I had the LAP3 ecu tune on my last stinger which was reason for choosing LAP3 again on the new stinger. Check out my other threads for LAP3 protuner/JB4/Tork Tune reviews.

2022 GT1 AWD - brand new
LAP3 Stage 2.5 ECU
LAP3 Stage 2 TCU
LAP3 WMI kit
AEM intakes
Stock FMIC
stock primaries
Stock scoops

Place your order online and LAP3 Send you a freshly tuned ECU. I ordered back in FEB 2020 and had the ECU in 3 weeks. When I swapped to the new car, it took about a week to get the ECU re-flashed.

I opted for a gurgle tune (hate the pops and bangs) only in sport mode above 3k RPMs. Impressive they could do such a specific request.

Car runs strong even without meth. 11.42 on draggy. With meth, around 11.2 on draggy but at the track, consistent 11.1 slips.

1/4 mile: 11.10 @ 130.2 mph. 19 psi of boost. Fastest trap record.

Dyno: 509 whp @ 19 psi.

Very pleased with this tune. No revisions needed. Can run pump 93 or E30 work no issues. My daily driver, 100% faithnin the reliability and performance of this tune.
Recommend to anyone. Spend the money. Enjoy the results.

That's impressive for 19psi. Got any audio of the gurgle tune?

So how much $$ is a guy looking at for the ECU and TCU as you ordered it? Thx in advance.

$4100 before promo codes. I’ve seen 10-15% off on occasion which is a nice savings.

Or you can buy a fancy exhaust for a few thousand, CF visual upgrades for a few thousand, FMIC for $1000…and not have any real performance.

Or spend 550 on a piggy back that leaves you wanting more.

Ya that’s getting up there and I still have to convert to CDN $. This does seem like the route to go though. Thx again cheers.

Impressive. Most impressive.

At what altitude do you run? I am hitting walls with JB4 since being advised at 5000ft in altitude never to run beyond map2.

These numbers are pretty good and look like they don't beat up the turbos too hard. My biggest problem here is the thin air and with trims maxing at high RPMs, suggestion is not to run the turbos too hard.

This might be a viable option.

So that’s a broad overstatement. If you go
For a full custom stage 2.5 ECU with exhaust tuning (pops and bangs) and all the bells and whistles it can be as high as $2600.

Buy you can get a 1.5 ECU tune that will
Still get you almost 500 whp and low 11a for $2000.

TCU tunes are around $1000.

Also keep in mind this includes a spare ECU or a spare TCU with your order. No cloning or needing to send yours in and having to down the car.

I was mentioning the other things you can buy that really start to add up that only provide visual appeal. People will spend $2k on a CF hood but cheap out on a quality tune.

Yeah it's a valid point. I think where it falls down for me is when you compare the cost of this tune to what most of us are used to paying for ECU tuning on other platforms. Yes, this is a niche platform and there is no OBD-II port programming so you're paying for a new ECU but the cost is still abnormally high for me for a quality ECU tune. Here is an example from APR for the Audi A7:

It's simple. Ask APR and others to tune these ECUs. You'll get your answer real quick.
A new spare ECU costs like $1400 at the dealer, and $900-1000 online, regardless of what these guys charge.
Add the price of the tune on top, and it builds up quickly. Having a spare ECU is important since you need the OEM one for dealership visit, emission/smog testing.

I've seen people cheap out on tuning, and they don't even perform as good as piggyback. I often see them going through issues, and I see this pattern where people end up spending more and more as these tunes don't run well. Other ECU tuning threads where people are having throttle cut issues, misfire issues, overboosting issues... it's cringy... and I know some of them blew head gaskets from it. They then partout or try different tunes, and they've already gone through thousands of dollars. It just tells me these so called tuning companies have no clue what they are doing. One could just do it right with LAP3, and never look back. So many LAP3 guys are running 10s & low 11s effortlessly. These guys are doing it with conservative boost level and without running race gas. Their dyno results are also amazing. They really got nothing else to prove.

I daily my big turbo stinger & it put down 620WHP, just like they advertised. It's much faster than a stock F90 M5(600-620WHP). I had a pretty close race with a tuned M5 Competition(700WHP), with a passenger in my car. I'm extremely impressed with their tuning. Seeing how no one else in the world can do this but LAP3, I say they know what they are doing and you can trust their work.

509AWHP @ 19PSI on a DynoJet? Dayumn.
I got 427 RWHP @ 20.4 PSI peak with my JB4 on a DynoJet.

That's a serious difference, would you say it's all in the tune, or in the meth?
LAP3 didn't seem confident in the G80 last time I reached out so I went with Lozic for my ECU tune (Still waiting on it, 1.6bar). I'm hoping it makes one hell of a difference, I'd be EXTREMELY happy with anything close to 500RWHP.

I don't have intakes either, perhaps that's part of the problem.
JB4, Lozic "Pressure" (Stage?) 3 TCU & Custom race exhaust.
Waiting on ECU tune to be shipped.

Sorry for the questions, new to this and extremely excited to see numbers @ 500WHP on the stock turbos, especially for AWHP.
I’d say it’s the combination. You can’t just add meth to a car and expect that type of performance and reliability. Might get you some power increase but who knows how the car will handle it. The Tune itself is very strong. It’s recommended to run meth with stage 2.5 but I wanted to see what would happen without it. The car still runs very strong. 11.4s in the 1/4 mile without meth. It doesn’t have throttle
Closure or boost cuts like other tunes.

I know lap3 is big in the G70 market so I’m not sure who you contacted about the G80 but I’m sure they would have tuned it. If you check out the LAP3 and PROSS Facebook pages, you can see all the different models they are tuning in the KDM community.

Good luck with lozic. Hope to see some numbers from that tune when you get it running.

You must have reached out to a different company. It makes no difference for us whether the platform is G70/G80/G90/Stinger 3.3T.
G80 3.3T owners can purchase their ECU tune from our website: DH G80 SPORT | LAP3

When I originally reached out about the G80 it was to get someone to work with me on moving to Big Turbos, but you guys didn’t seem to want anything to do with it since it wouldn’t be a drop-in kit. I asked about paying for additional R&D and Custom Fabrication time as well as providing the car and was ignored.

I should have worded my post a little better as I see how it could be taken negatively. What I had meant is that I wasn’t confident in LAP3 for moving the platform forward after the stock turbos for the G80.

Lozic has a kit designed specifically for the G80, from what I understood when talking to them, which is why I decided to go that route.

My decision wasn’t based on the tune alone, nor was it intended to sound negative towards LAP3, if im able to edit the post for clarification I will once im back on the PC.

Sorry for the miscommunication.

I've been following all KDM tuners closely, and there is no "Big Turbo kit designed specifically for the G80" by Lozic. They haven't even done a single big turbo 3.3T build, let alone successfully tuning one. Not sure who was smoking what to think that Lozic was offering a big turbo kit, and somehow believing and claiming so to justify one's basic tune purchase.

I've actually seen LAP3 tuning a big turbo G80 3.3T build on a forum(Picture below). If you were to make a one off custom turbo upgrade kit by a local reputable company, it will cost you ~20-25K for the build. This is where you can put your money where your mouth is. Hardware isn't the hardest part of it, and it is completely separate from one's tuning capability as well. You can get it done by any reputable company near you, really. That's how much one guy spent in the states to get his stinger build done, and $7000 on Motec ECU+custom tuning sessions. What's sad is that the Motec custom tuned Big Turbo Stinger is slower than LAP3 tuned stock turbo guys on Dragy. There's so many reasons why I went with LAP3 on my big turbo build & tuning.

I would personally stay away from Lozic seeing how they can't even fix the overboost issues with stock turbos when the car is heavily modded. I've seen a several guys with this issue, and one guy blew motor headgaskets from it. Several revisions after, it's still overboosting over 30PSI. So far I'm not really impressed with their tune. Speaking of big turbos, I sure wouldn't trust their tuning for my big turbo build, seeing how they are still struggling with stock turbo tuning and have no experience tuning big turbos to this day.
