Hey guys, I’m new to modding and considering going with lap3 stage 2.5 ecu tune with wmi. I’ve got a couple questions, some of them are probably stupid but I have to ask
1. What supporting mods should I have before i purchase the tune and wmi kit?
2. What is the process like when purchasing lap3 ecu tune? Do I mail out my current ecu or do they send me a new one? Also wait times and any other info you guys can give me on that would be great
3. Should I run a lap3 pro tuner along with the ecu tune? This may also be a dumb question.

So far I’m going to get aFe intakes, Mishimoto intercooler, hks plugs, Velossa tech snorkels, and a bms differential brace. Can’t help but think I’m skipping something important and I’m gonna mess up my car. Please help. Thanks in advance

While I don't plan on running WMI, CPI, or an E blend, I have a Lap3 stage 1 ECU tune running Shell 93 gas. The tune can be ran on a stock car without bolt-ons but it's always better to have quality bolt-ons (you can check out mine in my signature).

I purchased a used Lap3 ECU from a member here on the forums but I still had to ship it off to Lap3 for unlocking and reflashing. I recommend contacting David Chung on Facebook. He works at Lap3 and is very helpful, he answered every single one of my questions.

I had the Racechip GTS before my Lap3 tune. David recommends removing all piggybacks before running the ECU tune. For logging and monitoring, I have a Bluetooth OBD2 scanner/reader and the car scanner pro app, it works perfectly. The below screenshot was taken from the car scanner pro app.

1. Only requirements are HKS plugs and having proper octane. You will need CPI or WMI.

2. Prices is easy and quick. Order tune online, they will ship you an ecu, you keep your stock ecu for a rainy day or warranty work.

3. It's not a dumb question. No you don't need tk use pro-tuner

Reach out to David at @LAP3 Performance before you do anything if you're unsure. He walk you through the process, is great to work with, and cares about his customers.

When you purchases the used ecu how much did lap3 charge you to unlock it and tune it for your car?

I got 850 dollars off my tuning options so I was only charged 1000 dollars plus shipping.

1.You don't have to have any mods to run the tune except HKS spark plugs.
2.You ge t a new ECU with the tune on it. This is so you can swap your original ECU in for warranty work.
3. That's a big NO. Disconnect it completely.
With the S4 WMI kit from Lap3 you get a logging app. You have to pay for that app. $30 at ;east that is what I paid.

I have cpi, so how do i log.

I have never used Lb4 or CPI, but from being in this Stinger club for 2.5 yrs, you would need Jb4.

You must have JB4 to run the CPI? So do you have JB4? Contact Charlie Ashby and David Chung to help you with that. Charlie has the fastest Lap3 with CPI.

Ya I have the JB4 I just wasn’t sure if I needed wmi for the 2.5 because if I do, I’m not switching over from cpi.
