I installed the eBay stinger scuff plates and wired them to the mr11 connector (a pillar wiring harness) per the puddle lights install. #10 yellow wire is ground for lamp and #32 red wire is positive for lamp. T-connectors ended up severing both the yellow and red wire therefore I used another wire to connect the negative and positive wires and include the scuff plate wires.

Good news: LED scuff plates working as expected.

Bad News: Now I receive a LDW malfunction.

I’m wondering if the issue is with my ground given I spliced three wires together, however it’s my understanding the yellow #10 ground is specific to the lamp, therefore not sure why that would impact the LDW system?

If anyone has experience with this, please share. Depending upon what I hear, I may end up following up with my local mechanic.

Another question, does anyone know what wires are for ground and positive on the mr11 Main to Roof harness connector for the LDW system? looking at the online service manual, however this info isn’t available.

When moving the spliced ground yellow wire I do see differing behavior with the LDW system where it malfunctions and then appears to function, however even when it appears to function pressing the LDW system button on the dash does not turn it on and off. I also tried disconnecting the battery and reconnecting the wire harness connector however no suck luck.

I know the ground wires are spliced together otherwise my lamp lights and led scuff plates would not work.

A sensor or the ECU may have been damaged, possibly static electricity?

Update from my last thread. The lane departure system warning had nothing to do with me tapping into the wires in the A pillar harness, but instead was due to a malfunction of the switch for the lane departure system that KIA replaced under Warranty. All is good.
