Not sure I would call it a kill, but had fun chasing down a Chevy SS the other day. I was waiting across an intersection to go straight, he turns in front of me from the right as the light changes. I hear him lay into his loud V8, so I lay on mine to keep pace. I think he was surprised to see me filling his rear view so quickly. He turned off soon after, but not before I could pull up and give him a thumbs up - mostly because he had it rebadged as a Holden with a plate that read “crikey”
I’ve seen him out before, so maybe I’ll get another chance to surprise.
I gotta admit, this weekend I was driving a little insane and wife shot me a look and said "I guess you've become the BMW a**hole that you're always talking about." I feel you.
Your mods list doesn't have any ecu/tuning mods listed, but IIRC, you do have some? G70's like a cousin to our car - you should have clued him in so he can help rack up the kills against other people. I hope I stay competitive (and safe) when I get older - of course, you may think of me as an "old guy now" - pushing 50...
I plead the 5th, but do have intakes & muffler deletes and understand the g70 is our little younger brother. It’s a nice compact luxury car and good competition for small BMWs, Audi’s, etc. And if he wasn’t being a snob I would have given him a thumbs up and started a convo like I normally do. But he was being a douche and acted like a typical spoiled Boca brat so his loss. And no way, 50 isn’t old! I’m talking about 30+ years older like every other g70 owner I’ve seen so far. They’re normally in their 80s and typically aren’t auto enthusiasts like most Stinger owners so it’s hard to share experiences and tips like I do with my Stinger Swarm.
IKR but we have very similar performance and they aren’t as quick as they should be for how much lighter they are. But that’s probably just because they have the same reduced torque outputs like the 2019+ Stingers which makes a difference especially if short shifting like I do in my 2018.
Yes there are a couple tuners and dyno tests showing that the 2019s have noticeably less torque in the lower rpm ranges. And a couple buddies in my Stinger Swarm have gone head to head and the 2018s are slightly quicker especially from a dig.
I believe Kia did this to lessen traction issues and put a little less pressure on the drivetrain, but haven’t made it official since our engines are significantly underrated anyway.

well you do live in Florida (according to your loc)...land of older people G70 Age Demographics
if anyone is in Vegas and wants to do a true stock to stock run Id love to video it and put it online!

Very interesting indeed, I wonder if me having a 19 awd makes a difference because I remember seeing that the awd were pushing more boost psi than rwd. Just more of a reason for me to order the JB4+plugs next spring
@Kamauxx , is there anything specifically (or cumulatively) that led you to trade the Stinger? I am kind of put out with my Stinger even though I still love the car "in-theory." The "what could be" and "what is" with my particular Stinger is quite different. PM me with any thoughts about your trade and what led you to the M550 if you have a minute. The 550 is a car I considered prior to the Stinger but I couldn't pass up the value the Stinger offered at the time.

saw that one, but I want to do a real one in english where we can properly list the trims of each car. also a USDM vs USDM is needed, small changes in each market could affect who knows what
I had probably the weirdest race ever in mexico last night against a 335i. He and I were side by side at a red and both hit it pretty hard on green. I took the lead but let off when I heard this loud and scary pop; I honestly thought dude had blown his engine. He flew past me though, so I figured it must have been another car. I caught up with him a few miles down the road and this time we went at it from a roll. We took off at about 50 or so and I pulled ahead.....until I heard that loud ass pop again, which scared the sht out of me and caused me to let off. At that point i figured out he had one of those bmw "backfire/gunshot" tunes.
If you've never heard one in person, be thankful. It's not just scary, it also hurts your ears. And it's not just super loud, it also shoots flames with each pop. Not sure of the appeal, but to each their own I guess...

Lol and tell me about it. Most drivers in my area are 70-80 with the exception of the Stinger crowd. I know of about 20 Stingers in SFL and almost all of them are 20-50, but the four g70 owners I’ve seen so far fit my areas demographics and were around 80.

Yes, AWDs in general run about 1-2psi more to offset drivetrain loses and 2019 AWD should run similar TQ as the 2018 RWD but can’t confirm. But yes the JB4 will make a huge difference and sure you’d enjoy the extra power either way.
Pulled up behind an annoying loud S3 at a light. He immediately is revving his rat fart in a tin can exhaust as I shake my head. He uses launch control, I'm in Smart... About 75% throttle and I was on his bumper from 0-65 when I backed off. I would have definitely taken him off the line had I moved over and launched. Cute little car and it seemed pretty quick, but not a match for sure.
