Hi everyone,

I am looking to add blow off valves to help with the lag I have been experiencing. I’m not a big fan of valves that are very loud however I do not mind a little sound as that will happen no matter what. Does anyone have recommendations on which valves I should buy if I’m not looking for very loud ones?

Why do you think BOV's have anything to do with lag? They are just there to relieve the charge pipe pressure if the turbo's are spooled up and you let off the throttle. It keeps the charge pipe connections from blowing apart and the turbos from over revving since they are no longer moving any air. Just like if you take a vacuum cleaner and block the hose, it spins up a lot faster since it is not doing any work.

Because Han had them in F2F TOKYO DRIFT.

Okay thanks

Does anyone recommend a certain brand for BOV?

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
bovs are gonna make the lag alot worse,,, thats why i sold mine!
Why? Because they are venting to the atmosphere instead of back into the intake?

I got GFB. Can either go vent or recirculate. Not to mention build quality. Metal vs plastic.

Also to add to that if you buy BOVs and intakes would you need a tune?

No, BOV’s really do nothing but make a sound when you let off the throttle, some people like that. They don’t improve performance.
Intakes also make only a small difference if any at all. Again, it is more about being able to hear the turbos through the open intake.
Neither of these require a tune.

Does the GFB kits come with new hoses? piping or whatever... lol

So there wouldn’t be any damage done correct?

If you are running higher boost it would help prevent damage to the turbos.

A blow of valve does more than make a sound. They are designed to protect the turbos from the back pressure when the throttle closes and the compressed air has no other place to go, other than back to the turbo. After market BOV's can/may hold the boost more efficiently, allowing the turbos to spool up faster.

Nope unless it fails. Keep the originals and reinstall if something was to happen.

I know that, what I meant is that there is typically no reason to change the BOV's other than to get the nice sound. If you are running a major boost increase, the stock ones may not be able to handle the pressure, but you can only get this kind of boost with a major tune.
