Kia Stinger Depreciation Discussion

Sounds like we all basically agree. The moral of the story seems to be “ I don’t care what it costs, I just love driving my Stinger!”

Thanks to the Stinger I speed more! That’s a no no I know but god it feels good!

Technically you’re not breaking any laws until you get caught. It’s only a hypothetical no no until the copper gives you the ticket. If that helps ease your guilty conscience :)

If a tree falls in the woods and nobody takes a picture/video of it, did it really happen?

Given regular mileage, I'm guessing it's going to depreciate as follows:

New: 50,000
1-Yr: 40,000 -20% (-10,000)= -27.40/day
2-Yr: 32,400 -19% (-7,600)= -20.82/day
3-Yr: 26,568 -18% (-5,832)= -15.98/day

This is why I can't have nice things...

You are overthinking this: let your biology dictate in these matters. If you follow the numbers and deny your destiny, it will pass you by. ;):D

That's poor and slightly immature advice though. A goal in life should be to be financially responsible and to evaluate what your assets projected value will be when you think you'll be selling. As much as I love the car, depreciation is going to be an issue with it more than its competitors in the market. I typically keep my cars for longer than average and will likely have the car for a decade if all goes well so depreciation risk is mitigated, but if you only keep cars for a few year, you're going to be paying alot in depreciation per year. These are all expenses you need to factor into your purchase if youre going to make an informed decision.

Not that I completely disagree with you, but people are not corporations. For a business, making as much money as possible is the goal, so yeah ensuring every penny you spend has the most return is a great way to do things. For people though, it just isn't. Once you have reach a level where you are happy with what you have money wise, any "surplus" can be spent without having to be to reasonable about it. And I'm gonna put this out there but for MOST people buying a 50 grand Kia, they're probably well off enough to afford it without skipping meals......

Well said.

It seems any minute now this thread will instigate comparison measurements of "my Stinger is bigger than yours...." fortunately, that's Something which appreciates with age!

That wins the innuendo award for best use of text. And it gets a special mention for being absolutely true. :D:thumbup:

Mine is 4.83 m long. I do have trouble parking it due to its size. I find a lot of car parks bays are too small.
Lol

You poor thing! This brings to mind a certain image in the opening credits to the HBO series Rome, a bit of scurrilous wall graffiti no doubt perpetrated by a distant ancestor of you blokes. ;)
