3.3TT Kia Stinger 3.3TT SSR Downpipes +30WHP / +26WTQ NO TUNE!!!!! Dyno Runs and Testing

Torks dyno seems to run a little higher than some but my 353 w cat back would have been 368 with catback and intake.

Here are my 2 dragys before and after the ssr. #42 was fairly cool as i recently got off the highway and #41 was back to back with #42.
#40 was after SSR install about 2-3 hours later. #39 was 15 mins after #40

I hope the mid does something. I may get to the track with the stock mid back on and that will give us more data.

I did dragy 3.89 0-60 on the way to the shop to get SSR installed and ran 3.89 directly after it was installed. (Tuned)
Weird. How many WOT runs did you do after the SSR was installed so the ECU could adapt to the new mod?

That day none, but 38 recorded dragys since putting the pipes on.
Went back to the shop last weekend and ran 3.82, 3.91. So it hasn't changed. Couple days ago another 3.90 and a 3.91.
I've done faster but these are full weight middle of the afternoon runs.

I put my stock mid back on and 0-60s increased to 4.1 to 4.3 range, from 3.8 - 3.9 (full weight warm day). Car is not happy! 60 foots up around 2.0 from 1.85s. I'm sure it will adjust but its much slower than when I had the stock mids on last. Very odd. Need to do some more runs.
JT has a full DP, MP, catback exhaust and they say 40 HP total. Probably not on a tuned car. Not bad but certainly less than the claimed part by part 30hp for the DP, 30hp for the MP, and 10-15hp for a Catback. Sounds pretty good.

Wow, that's quite a difference for the 0-60 and 60 ft. times.

Methinks the catless secondary mid pipes make a bigger difference on tuned cars than what people think.

On several tuned forced induction cars in the past, any time you replace a part to reduce restriction and increase flow, the gains seem to be greater with a tuned car than in OEM trim. It only makes sense. Increase boost -> Increase pressure -> increase flow. Reduce restriction will make a bigger difference. Blow softly through a small straw or blow softly through a big straw -> not a lot of difference. Blow hard through a small straw then blow hard through a large straw -> BIG difference!

But when i first put it on it made me no faster. So now im just slower than when when i started lol. I did the test immediatly after adding pipe and imediatly after removing it. More testing needed as I'm way slower now than before the pipe went on.

Is the turbo spooling slower too? Maybe it’s more a factor of how fast they help make full boost vs how much extra HP they actually make.

Did 3 more pulls this morning ( 2 days after OEM MP install). DA today 248, DA on Monday 1016.
Today ran 4.01, 4.01, 3.97, and 60 foots of 1.93, 1.93, 1.96. Still a bit off but better. Looking at logs my LC isn't in its usual awesome self. I usually LC around 2455 RPM and today 2320, 2431, 2374. Max boost 20 which is normal for fairly cool IATs. Most this difference I think is the lower LC RPM. With OEM MPs it did vary, often hitting 2455 and other times a bit less. I think with the SSRs I was almost always getting my 2455.
I only had 2 pulls with my light wheels and OEM MPs before I put on the SSRs. If I had more pulls the picture would be more clear.
3.98s on a fully loaded car warm day, warm ish intakes was normal before I got wheels and SSR.
My 2 runs with wheels (full weight, mid day) were 3.89 and 3.99. After Mids still full weight - mostly 3.9s and some 3.8s.

Looking at all 0-60s best runs pre mid and pre wheels best was 3.78, 3.87, 3.89.
Best 0-60s with wheels and mid - 3.65, 3.69 many 3.70s and low 3.7s.
I think most of the .13 drop was the wheels but hard to say. Maybe its half and half.

I have been debating between Junb L and SSR downpipe (now realizing from this thread that the SSR diameter is slightly bigger??!)

I( everyone still overly happy with several months of their DP on the car (with oem exhaust;)) ?

Yes, I couldn't be happier!

MisterMac, you probably haven't had a chance to re-dyno your car after the installation of the SSR downpipes, but did you notice any kind of "seat-of-the-pants" improvement in performance with them in place?

Oh, YES!!! The snap-my-head back is even greater than before the SSR pipes! @Ahawk1968 is local to me. When he put the SSR pipes on, his impression was the same. Perhaps he will comment too for you.

+1 got the same feeling here:thumbup:

Hey folks. I agree with Mac. My first mod was the SSR pipes. Absolutely noticable, and the dragy times agreed. Saw a three tenth, and three mph trap speed improvement on a completely stock vehicle. The improvement is very consistent with SSR dyno claims.

More testing done with stock mids back on. My LC is back and the car is running fast again. 11.78 this morning with stock mids vs 11.71 last week with ssr mid. Da 783 today vs 209 last week so the difference is .038 when corrected. 3 hundredths is run to run variation. I think this mod myth is busted on a tuned car.

I placed my order yesterday. Does @SSR Performance have a ship date for these?
