Drag/Acceleration Kia Stinger 0-60 MPH Times

Dadgummit......ill never get back on the board....theres an 1/8 mile track that might be open sunday its only 60 miles away..... Guys that have been going to the winter tracks...will track prep stop the tire spin on launch? :) Wash
It will help. Get some Track juice if you want lol .

Haha I need traction!!! Good Job :)

Thanks. You’re preaching to the choir. That’s the challenge for all of us with a RWD. It’s not just coincidental that the top three fastest stingers to 60 are AWD and @Tonkabob is leading by a whopping .18.

If you’re using the JB4 you can do boost by gear to help with this. What will help immensely is once we can get to the track. It will be interesting to see 0-60 and 1/4 mile times come this Summer. I’m predicitng many more sub 4s 0-60 and sub 12s 1/4 mile runs. My included, ha!

View attachment 18815 View attachment 18816 Tried out my dragy this morning at 6am, had over a half tank of gas and it’s cold and damp roads so I think I can do better.

18 AWD jb4 map 3, jun mid pipes-evc catback, k&n panel filters, stock plugs gapped .024, 91 octane with some E85.

Wow, your 0-30 is ~ .2 faster than @STINGER, however your 0-60 is ~ .2 slower. Your running into issues from 30-60. Fix those and you should have a sub 4s run. Good luck!

Yeah I'm using boost by gear (-4 psi in first) but if I had better traction I could run a bit more boost. It's also summer here and I don't have intakes yet either. Also too lazy to remove the two child seats and spare haha. I'm pretty confident I can get a 4.2 if I put some effort in on the right road with cooler temps.

That's an awesome time! What are you running for boost by gear?

No boost by gear. I dont redline 1st and shift early into 2nd which helped drop the time.

Interesting. Look at the Gs and speed of the shift for you vs Adamdan. Adamdan's are long and deep. Wonder if Adamdan can drop a few tenths by short shifting?
edit: oops, just noticed Aamdan is AWD. But the shifts are still hurting your time.

@Adamdan is new on the board at #9 bumping @CFLGT2AWDStinger.
@STINGER improves his time and moves up to #6. First tie breaker with Stinger running the 4.16 10 feet shorter than @Stormlasher.

From what I've seen and read the max speed for 2nd gear is 59 mph. @Tonkabob given how much faster your time is there everyone else does your ECU flash include a mod to the drive ratio allowing you to reach 60 mph in 2nd? Not having to shift to 3rd would definitely be a time saver. Not sure if this is possible with a bench flash, but thought I would ask.

@Tonkabob @Get Stung @KLR STINGER do you paddle shift or simply put it in drive with launch control enabled and mask the accelerator as I do? Given that the dyno I performed showed peak HP at 5250-5500 rpms I'm thinking I might be able to achieve a faster time if I paddle shift at 5500 rmps. My only concern with that is the rpms in the next gear will be lower then if I go to redline, but I don't know how much lower. I'm thinking this will come down to the difference in horsepower between 5500 and 6500 vs how much HP I will lose in the next gear. In other words, my dyno shows I'm losing 65 HP between 5500 and 6200 rpms. If I shift at 5500 and the next gear is 3500 vs shifting at 6500 and the next gear being at 4500 then the HP difference between 3500 and 4500 is 55 HP. If my logic is correct then it would make sense for me to shift at 5500 as I would be losing less HP through the powerband. Does this make sense?

I just mash it on LC and let it rip. No technique here.
Ecu tune has some launch and shifting improvements but he hasn't raised the shift points yet.
With RC i ran 1.98 -2.0 60 foots and with no other changes besides the original stage 1 ecu tune was doing 1.91 - 1.96s. Now with stage 2 beta tune, intake , and fmic 1.83-1.87s.

Alright, first time playing with a Dragy.
RWD, 93 Octane, Stillen CAI.

Need more traction :D

How have I not posted here? Guess I was out of town on business for a week after this was first posted..

This is with Pressertech Tune only, and was the 2nd "drive cycle" after the tune, before I had the K&N drop-in filters. I have had sub-4s but for some reason was not recorded - operator error. The recording device is an Escort/Passport "G-Force" performance computer, which cost a fair bit back when it was new, so I don't have much reason to question the accuracy.
