But if you're on the one wheel with an open diff, you've already lost traction. :p I can't understand why Kia thought it was a good idea to offer this car in RWD GT trim with an open diff to begin with at all, and apparently they only pulled that crap in the US, and only for MY18 cars. I think there's a fair bit to be gained with a limited-slip off the line here.

Open diff is same as LSD until one side starts to spin. The trick to good times with them is preventing the right tire from spinning in the first place. :)

It is rather annoying though that most cars are LSD. :(

They did that because their LSD supplier ran out, so it was either sell very few Stingers the first year of production of sell some without the LSD.

As an owner without an LSD, I'm irritated by it, but I knew it didn't have one when I bought it so I don't really have a right to complain.

Slicks will help even with an open diff, more traction = less wheel spin regardless of open or limited.

People really don't seem to understand what an LSD even does - it is NOT 1-wheel drive.

that looks like a sweet car they installed that on!

They didn't want the disintegrated entangled mess of plastic impellers being launched into the manifold to ruin a perfectly good engine, so they found a junker. Perfectly reasonable.

is that supposed to give an NA motor spooling sounds or something? Or is that some crazy (and stupid) idea to try to increase intake velocity?

Not many updates on this thread - but has anyone tried launching from 2nd gear? Launch control works (surprisingly) and I'm actually getting better 0-60 times this way (no traction issues with RWD from 2nd). Sadly my slope was slightly invalid (the road dropped like 2ft just as I shifted to 3rd) but it was pretty decent considering my DA of 2400ft compared to some of y'alls -2000ft DAs the last few months :D

What did your 0-60 drop down to? Can you post any 1st gear vs 2nd gear dragy’s?

I can never get a valid run since I live near mountains and nothing is flat so direct comparisons are kinda hard. But, the random run I did yesterday starting in 2nd I went 0.11 seconds faster than I've ever gone starting in 1st

How do you guys measure your times accurately?
With a Dragy. It's a GPS based performance meter that connects via bluetooth to your phone. ~$150USD

Is that the only way? Has no one made something to read Canbus speed with time?
