Kia quality, two words that should never be used together.

You don't need to come here and be an a**hole to this community

Good riddance.

He expressed his his dissatisfaction with a car/brand... inanimate objects. I'm a part of this so-called "community" and I didn't take that as an insult or attack against me/us. I also don't align myself so closely with a particular brand that I take someone's criticism as a direct attack, however. As far as I can see he wasn't an assbole to the community, the community was an asslole to him.

Whoa, this has escalated quickly!
Unfortunately Jang has got off to a bad start by calling the Stinger “ POS” , in all due respect, it’s his car and perhaps it’s cosmetic failings are warranted as far as his perspective goes but my Stinger is no “ POS “ ........ carry on .......

Im sure Jang feels better now, just a bit of vent therapy?

I will go through and read what everyone has said, before I do I would like to apologize (without sarcasm). I was angry when I made the initial post and was a jerk about how I responded to MerlintheMad, totally uncalled for.

My car is very fun to drive and yes it has some flaws. I bought this car as a way to reward myself for the past few months of hard work and a means of escape from my job, instead of providing that escape it became another source of stress.

I acknowledge I was wrong from the start and hope I can start fresh here.

Apology accepted. I was feeling already a little testy before I read your OP. Fire to tinder. Hah. :)

lol, I’ve owned 5 kias all with abs zero issues.

IMO, if it’s on the sunroof, it’s not factory. These marks happened elsewhere.

I for one really appreciate the fact you took the time to rethink and acknowledge your post.
You will always receive strong responses when you come into a community that is passionate about the Vehicle they own.
We pay a lot for our Stingers, some go and mod, most of us love our cars, they are not perfect but most of us enjoy them for what they are. I looove my Stinger, it is so much fun and best car Iv'e owned to date.
You will find most of us to be welcoming and friendly.
If you need any help/info and can't find it easily here, just ask.
Hope you get everything sorted for you and your car is what you expect it to be. :)

I purchased a brand new 2020 GT1 in Obsidian Black. On the test drive I noticed a small bubble on the dash, I was told it will still be fixed, one month in and still nothing is scheduled. The day after I drove home I noticed some odd milky bluish spots in the paint if viewed in certain light, on closer inspection these spots are on nearly every panel including the sunroof (which is not even painted). The solution is to have some local place repaint the effected areas. . . The image is of the sunroof but the spots on the actual paint appear the same.

I was aware that in the past there were problems with rattles with the hatchback, one would think they would actually fix this problem. Spoiler, they did not. Using some tape with foam on one side I found the spot and eliminated the problem, though it looks like some trailer park solution. The solution to fix the sunroof will be to replace it, I would not be surprised if this becomes a rattling problem too as they have a history with that issue as well.

In summary I regret buying this POS. I will never buy another Kia and will make sure anyone thinking about buying such a piece of trash knows better.

Finally...I found someone else that's having the same problem.. and I'm sorry,, it doesn't feel nice..
Did the repair shop spot paint to fix it?
I complained about this to Kia in July 2019 and they are yet to find a solution for me. They acknowledged that it is a defect.. but they've been playing ping pong between dealership, bodyshop, regional service manager, Kia premium line and Kis consumer assistance center lol

Strange, my totaled stinger has no such problems. The paint isn't peeling, the hatch does not rattle.

I was so caught up in what an ass I had been I forgot to elaborate about what was found out about the paint. The repair shop and dealer both thought it was under the clear coat, it was when I noticed the spots on the sunroof that the repair shop said, wait a second. So it appears to be residue from the soap they used when they ran it through a brushed. . .bastards. . . car wash when they sold it to me.

The repair shop asked me to pick a spot and used some type of compound and easily removed it, he also said not to use that compound as it would be to rough on the finish and suggested using a clay bar. They don't easily come off with the clay bar but of course you don't want to scrub the hell out of your car with the bar. I am waiting till I have some time off and will just hit the spots with the bar and then wax it after.

Just another story where the car gets blamed and not the dealer. Should change the title to dealer quality.
