Kia Motors Emblem Installed

I did 5 coats of black and 3 coats of their glossifier, which I don't think worked.

I swear it looks crooked to me but my wife tells me it's just me.
I had exactly the same feeling! I think it is the way the letter r falls away - if you measure it is fine but just somehow ...

Its level , you did a great job , I'm re doing my badge , the paint chipped so I bought a new one and I'm going to Plast dip it , I plasti dipped the 3.3T , and GT badges and they look really good. Looking sharp !!
I dipped my Optima badges and they looked great and lasted the 5 years I had the car. Considering doing the same to the GT and Stinger script badge.

Was thinking of doing a gunmetal color if I could find one

image.webp image.webp image.webp Befor and after , The solid chrome stinger script almost got lost in the white , this chrome black out really made it pop. It came out looking real close to the side mirrors , Can't tell from the picture I took in the shade I'll try to get one in the sun . Thanking about the shading the GT badge and the AWD badge but will have to wait till I order another AWD badge , just don't like to paint them on the car .

I just did mine as well and am considering redoing. If you compare to the license plate it looks perfect but if you compare to the two vertical lines in the red above it it is slightly off center to the right. And did not quite cover the hole at the base of the N

Well there in lies the trick forget about left and right how many inches upper down, what you have to do is make sure the two holes are covered by the front of the G on the right side and the front of the N on the left hole . When you get the holes right with the template All you have to do is make sure that the top part of the template is level and just tape it don't worry about the damn bottom because it drops down anyway you could tape it up if you want but as long as you have the top part of the template secure and straight you're downtown so there is no real right or left that's the only place you could put it to cover those holes up it's really not that far off specially if you look at the license plate . Besides no one's going to notice it will be lucky to see the stinger emblem if you're driving it like you're supposed to LOL .

This might sound like an odd question but were everyone else's holes from the Kia badge round? On mine the right one as you face it from the rear (passenger side) was a round drill hole but the left looked like they made it in the wrong place and drilled it more to make it fit. The left hole was a oval laying down.

Yep that's the way mine are . Follow the holes Luke and let the force be with you .

The optical illusion is tricky because the letters slant to the right which makes it academic whether the ends of the extended letters are exactly equi-distant from the edges of the deck lid or the letters themselves (without the extensions) are centered over the license plate. Doesn't really matter because all they see is "Stinger" on the back. No one measures except those of us who are purists. :p

I do believe the phrase would be "anal purists" and yes I can be one at times.

Yes we're all anal about something but I think if Einstein took this task on at the end of the equation that took six chalkboards to figure it out he still couldn't get it done and cover the holes I mean really who cares if it's 1/256 ins to the right or to the left it's all about covering the damn holes . If anybody gives you any SHIT about it being off just tell them it's an optical illusion besides out of there given is static I probably can't afford one and they're probably the person that still tells you what it won't do because they can't have one. But those of you with snow white pearl should really look in to the shadow chrome black out coding , about three light coats of the black really makes it pop . Oh yeah my wife just told me to add about 10 coats of the clearcoat , I think I'm still high from painting that yesterday , something about not being in a ventilated area LOL .
