Evening,

Well, I didn't expect to win this eBay auction, especially for $35. Should I be leery about using it? Supposedly it was working properly upon removal. This was totally an impulse buy.

I have a GT-Line (2.0).

Thanks

no issues ! and cheap to boot ! , you could sell it and make $$$

Well, it states no issues, just wondering is there any major risk, hooking her up for trial run? That little voice in my head...

It arrived, I just had to try it.

And it works fantastically! I'm actually amazed at the transformation, a whole new car. Installation and App/bluetooth connection were super easy.

I re-gapped the stock plugs (HKS's on the way), filled up with Shell 93 octane, and the extra power comes on so smooth. No errors! I've done a couple tests runs on "Sport" mode (no more til' plugs arrive), and what this produces, it's all I need.

The 2.0 just needed a swift kick in the mid's, though boost comes earlier now. I have no need to try "Race" mode (probably will though), no desire for racing, just more fun on the highway.

I know many don't seem to care for Racechip, but for mild tune needs, it seems to work very well.

Thanks for the advice!

Now you've done it.......If you think for a second, that it will stop there, you are mistaken....;)
I'm going to do my best to stay put! I hear you though. I had the JB4 on order, then cancelled before it shipped, lol. I do appreciate all the help.

I have no idea where to mount it, my only issue so far.

Not sure about the RC but have the jb4 resting on the fuse cover. Got a backup from "mykiaparts.com" to replace when I go to the dealer......;)

Yeah, I scratched a cover, figured I should order new one. Thanks for that link, perfect.

Do you replace your plugs to stock, for dealer service?

No I don't. I will say that because the HKS are a step 'colder", it takes a minute or so to warm up which can make a "cold" startup a little on the "sputtery" side. This is normal for those plugs. Once engine is warm, mine just "purrs".....I also ordered a set of "stock" NGK plugs from the same place. Since I had the engine replaced, I have a feeling that when I take it in for the HECU recall, they may pull one just to check since the engine replacement was a "warranty" replacement. If that is the case, they will find "stock" plugs in there.....if I had the 3.3, I would probably just take my chances but since it only takes about 15 mins. to change them, figured I would keep a set of stock plugs on hand.....

For that price, it was a good deal. jb4 is better, at least for 3.3TT, but nowhere near $35 cheap. Especially if you're just looking for a mild bump.

Was actually $31, funny. I lucked out because there was no reserve, and obviously no 2.0 shoppers that night. Was originally one bidder I believe.

I just want a mild bump, plus I'm sold on Shell 93 octane.

Thanks.
