Ok ok, before everyone gets too excited(or angry lol) it wasnt a new 2018 460HP 5.0 Stang... But it was a tuned 3rd generation 5.0, which is still no joke with a few bolt-on upgrades.

I was cruising home from work when an early 90s 5.0 cut in front of me. It had a big wide tires and a really mean exhaust note. I hesitated for a second because I wasnt sure if he had a 500HP+ monster under the hood, but I thought it would be fun either way and went for it.

I switched to Sport mode, dropped into 2nd gear and followed him as he made a right turn. I heard him get on the gas early so I punched it. I had TC off so the back end actually came loose for a split second, but quickly regained traction and then it just took off! I caught him by the end of 2nd, and almost had a car length on him by 60mph:D

I gave him a quick blink of my hazards and pulled into the left lane to make a u-turn at the light. He pulled up next to me and shouted "wow that things got some balls!", I smiled gave him a big thumbs up and jokingly said "not bad for a Kia" as I drove off.

I admit this made my day as I've lost to my fair share of "foxbody" 5.0 Stangs over the years. Great feeling knowing I can finally get my revenge!!!;)

Just as a reminder, a ‘93 Cobra only has 235hp stock. Granted any car that old isn’t racing because it’s about to fall apart or it’s been modified in some way.

Yeah I remember the 90's(vaguely:rofl:) and its amazing how far we've come. Feels like yesterday that 300HP and a 13 second 1/4mile was basically reserved for exotic cars!

However, I dont think I've met a stock Stang in my life!;) Those 90's 5.0s were so light and easy to tune everyone was running 12's... My Trans-am would give them a run but they would constantly whoop me in my WRX.

You could be right and its possible he was just a stock Stang with exhaust, but it felt good either way. At least in my mind, or for my own justification I got my first taste of revenge! Lol:D

nice work.. glad he gave you props

Why would you flash your hazard lights? Your not in an STI or Neon. Please don't cheapen the Stinger brand.

Nice kill anyways. Hard to tell if that "FOX" body was 600hp or 190hp. Good thing he gave you props. That shows a lot for the Stinger.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

Lol. I flashed them because flashing hazards is universal car talk for “you lose” and has never been brand specific. I hate to admit the loses, but I’ve had a BMW M5, Benz C63 and Audi S7 flash their hazards at me which are not cheap brands in anyway.;)

Thanks and yeah I was scared it was a 500HP+ monster like all the others I’ve raced. Luckily it wasn’t that fast but the exhaust made it it sound like it. It did move pretty good and best guess was 300-400HP just with a slow manual trans.

And great point. The respect I’ve gotten from all different types of car brands is actually shocking. I can’t say I haven’t gotten dirty looks from Ford or Dodge fanboys, but I’ve got more thumbs up so that’s definitely a win win for Kia.

The good ole loser tap...remember doing that in my SN95 5.0. Use to get the timing down just right...flashers, tap the brake, barely edge the stick in reverse; just enough for the white light to flash in sequence.

I sold my stock 1992 5.0 with 24,000 miles on it 4 years ago. To this day its got 25,000 miles and still stock. It was the only Mustang out of the 6-7 that I've had that I kept stock.

the mrs mustang that was sold to the neighbors kid, was her favorite. after all the mods, she watches him drive away and i know she misses her stang. 145,000 miles. she gets a little teary eyed as she spots other stangs like her old one, but then she clicks over to sport, smokes the offending stang, and feels better.

and, i am going to say it........who smokes mustangs? i smoke american spirit. figure it is kind of hard to roll that sucker up. bahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
