JB4 Vs Lap3 ProTuner - Any opinions?

Start with map 2. Take some logs (set auto logging at 80% throttle in the jb4 app) from like 30MPH to 80MPH (safely on a deserted flat road of course) and post the logs. The main thing you are looking for are the ign2 through ign6 numbers while under boost (these are the timing corrections). If you get less than 3, you are doing pretty good. If they are all close to 0, try the next map and do the same.
If you see high numbers, then it could be fuel, plugs or coils.
Thanks man, did you break in the jb4 with a couple hundred miles? Been reading some do and some don’t. Also plan to replace OEM plugs with HKS so hopefully plugs and or fuel will not be a problem lol.

I run Shell 93 octane only if I'm running MAP 2. I run Octane Booster from time to time whenever I want to go into MAP 3, which to me, is a jump from MAP 2, just my experience, even though the boost difference isn't significant. We don't have E85 here or I would have an E30 mix. Not the biggest fan of octane boosters for long term but when I want to have fun on a sunny day(s), I have 5-32oz bottles of Boostane just sitting in my garage, which could last me years if I ever get to them.

Definitely change the plugs, the stock plugs won't hold up to the added boost.
Don't really think the jb4 needs to break in, the ECU should get the fuel trims pretty quickly. The main thing I think that can affect fuel trims short term is going E30, but I usually putt around for a few miles when I used to mix in E85 since it seems it needs to slosh around the tank before my fuel-it sensor settled down to the correct reading.

Perfect, plan to just run 93 so hopefully I don’t have to do an E85 mix but that’s a worst case.

Whenever you’re casually riding around do you switch you tune to stock setting? I was reading some do and some just run the Map 2 with their 93 octane and have no issues. Plan on getting the car to be actually able to hold power with no issues given how low mileage. Haven’t read that too many people have trouble with it but a lot are low miles.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

Here in cali, we only have 91 unless you can find one of a very small number of stations that have 100 unleaded race gas, and then that is very expensive, so for DD I leave it in map 1 which disables WMI as well.
If you are close to some metropolitan areas (Sacramento, etc) you can get E85, and I played with that some, but I am about an hour away from any E85 stations, so I now have WMI and use that only at the track.

Here in Texas we have 93, but also E85. Given the distance I don’t assume you would run that mix and just keep it with 91 but is it worth wild to switch fueling or just keep it on map 2 for 93?

If you have good logs with map 2 and 93, stick with that.
If you plan to race at the track (I don't condone racing on the street), then for those you could mix E85 to get E30 and run map 3 or map 4. When I was doing that, map 4 was definitely a big upgrade over map 1.

Thanks for you input man, really appreciate it.
