Currently in the market for a jb4 but curious as to what kind of power to the wheel I would be making with secondary downpipes , Catback and intakes? JB4 map2 as I only want to run pump gas 93. Thanks. What kind of power to the wheel you think I would be making ? Over 400whp ?

It doesn't take much to pull more than 400whp. I believe with the JB4 in map2 Catback, DownPipes, and intake, you'll most likely make similar or more power than my car.

Appreciate it. How are you liking the Racechip ? I see you making good power to the wheels . You can’t log on the Racechip but they say you won’t have any problems . How long have you had the Racechip ? Reliable ? Problems ?

I'm loving it. You're correct, I can't log with the the racechip but the reliability has been perfect so far. I've had the racechip for 2087 miles as of this comment and had zero problems, the car actually runs smoother. I do let my oil temp get to at least 150 degrees Fahrenheit before driving.

Does the jb4 recognize if you have mods on the vehicle, like intake and or catback? Or do you input that information into it? I was able to snag a JB4 from a guy on fb marketplace, so I'll be installing it in the near distant future. I plan to research and learn more about the specifics of it before then, but wanted to see if anyone had a quick answer for this question.

Smart and pre cautionary measure. I like . I let my car warm up five minutes before doing anything no matter the weather.

Not sure if it does but I know it’s safe with the typical bolt on mods and depending on which map you use

I forgot to add, that I've heard owners running into over boost issues once installing downpipes and needing the EWG wires JB4 addons to fix those issues.

What’s all included in the JB4 when you purchase it ? And what else do you need to get ?

I think you can only get the JB4 box bundled with or without the Bluetooth module. Upgrading the factory spark plugs is a must for any tune, they prevent misfires since you'll be pulling higher boost. HKS plugs are most expensive than Denso plugs but the HKS's are higher quality. You also want to gap the plugs correctly. (Between .024 and .028). The BMS PNP fuel wires for the JB4 are optional like the EWG wires. The fuel wires are for modifying fuel/air ratios.

You probably want a good oil catch can to capture some of the crankcase oil blowby (car maintenance mod). I'll recommend ram air snorkels. I have the JA airscoops but those are no longer being made. The Velossa Tech snorkels function the same though. The snorkels will replace the factory air inlet elbow and allow a lot more air into the stock enclosed airbox or open-air intake if you have those. Don't worry, the snorkels don't suck to water during rainstorms (this is my daily driver so I know).

Cool yep I would still get the pnp wires and fuel wires just for peace of mind. Bluetooth you can include in purchase. Total you looking at about what $800?

I’d get a tune with logging capabilities. Yes your tune has been running smoothly according to your butt dyno, but you don’t know if it is having some timing corrections etc…

Guess I'll see how well it holds up over the long term.

Secondary downpipes were claimed to be good for ~15-30 whp (IIRC) when they came out, but afterwards, with a tune, it didn't seem to make much difference (i.e. after tuning, same power with and without pipes). IIRC, some people have snapped turbo studs when doing secondaries, which was a HUGE PITA.

IMHO, avoid, the headache, do catback ONLY if you want sound (again, minimal gains), and do the BMS 450 WHP package.

This car is NOT like turbo cars from 15 years ago where exhaust is a huge restriction for ANY tuning level. You probably only want to do pipes/catback after doing intakes, tune, plugs, and even then, probably minimal gains (like 20-30 whp, but when you're > 400 whp, is 20-30 worth it for $1K+?).

around what hp does the jb4 provide on map 3 with an e30 mix and 91?

Good quality 93 and the Jb4 450 kit will net you over 400whp on map 2 depending if you are AWD or RWD, map 3 will guarantee you over 400whp if your 93 can support it, no matter the drivetrain. a catback will probably allow an extra 10hp or so somewhere in there. back last year when I first did it, I made 390rwhp on map 2 on a DYNOmite dyno, which are pretty famous for being ego killer dyno's (They read really, really low) and 406rwhp with some boostane on the same dyno on map 3, so def over 400 on any other dyno on map 2.

For anyone seeing this having never heard of a dynomite dyno, its similar to a mustang dyno. it reads LOW. The operator running it said that realistically, add 6-8% more hp than what it reads to get a more realistic number, the shop would just rather read low on paper than read high.

Appreciate the input my guy. So just touching or shy of 400 whp is pretty solid on map 2 and reliability with it. I would be using a mustang Dyno jet when the time came around so more optimistic. So you can run map 3 on 93 pump ? Didn’t quite catch that .

Yes you can run map 3 on 93 IF your 93 is good quality 93 or you use an octane booster at fill up. Generally, you will know if you can run map3 based off how good your map 2 logs are.
