I'm curious to see what BEF everyone is running and what supporting mods you're running.

I dont have a BEF yet but I plan on getting one soon. I was looking to get the RACE_IGN one but Terry recommend that I get RACE and E85

My mods: Takeda intakes, snorkels, jb4, mid cat delete, wmi, 93/e30

I am running the JB4 E85 BEF IGN19 no burbles.

Current mods- MBPR catback exhuast with actual tips attached, injen intakes, JB4 and HKS plugs.

Running Map 3 on JB4.

So far no issues and runs smooth.

I’m running the E85/19 and BMS TCU tune on E60. Just did a pull on MAP 5 with the latest settings Terry gave me. All I can say is it’s borderline scary how fast and solid this car is. If you have E available, I would highly recommend. My mods are in the signature.

Ya I live in FL we have high quality 93 and e85 everywhere. ive only had my BEF tune a few days, feels good so far. My goal is to run map 5 on full e85 if possible. I think we are going to do the HPFP next if it continues to stay reliable.

There are many roads to go down. Even with all the “known” mods and tunes. Every car is a “bit” different I expect. Enjoy the journey :) that’s the fun of it right?

so I dont have the TCU tune yet. How is the shifting in comfort and sport?

TCU tune has been a game changer. First off all the reoccuring “harsh” downshifting is gone. Comfort is very chill, and great if you are driving under normal conditions. Flip to sport and it’s a different car. Shift points are now where they should be to hold the boost curve, and increased shift pressures are perfect if you are getting on it. Would highly recommend.

wow perfect this is what i wanted to hear. Is this the "BMS TCU ALPHA" tune thats 75? Any downsides and how long have you had it?

no downsides at all so far. Been on it for about 4 weeks, and did an 800 mile roadtrip on it a few weekends ago.

Ok i downloaded the BMS TCU BEF. Now we will see how it is on my car.

Just checking in to see how it’s going. What are your impressions so far?

i dont notice much of a difference honestly. I was expecting less harsh shifts in sport and that didnt happen. I do see it shifting at 5900 at full throttle so it stays in boost, i rarely do full throttle, but thats a thing i guess.

Sorry to hear it’s not performing as you hoped. I think it was a bit different for me. The major issue I had was “harsh” downshifting in any mode. That’s gone now. I wanted the difference between comfort and sport. In sport I’m really getting on it for whatever the reason of the day is :) I’m really enjoy the increased shift pressures in those situations because that is my intent. Holding the boost is also an advantage. Comfort to me now is just smooth cruising.

now that i think of it, ya when coming to a stop the shifting is still harsh when downshifting.

We've done around 250 cars now with BEF maps and almost the same with our TCU. Feedback has been really positive!

Shifting in sport mode should be faster (harsher) than factory, and in comfort mode should feel close to factory. Downshifts in sport mode should be more aggressive, and in comfort mode should feel like factory. If that isn't the case shoot over a log and we can double check your specific calibration. There are around 30 different TCU tunes we've made, one for each calibration, and not all of them have the same tables, etc.

Ok thanks terry ill be messing with it more in the next few weeks. I do like it shifting sooner under full throttle, it just doest get used much. lol

Let’s say hypothetically you forgot which tune you flashed your ECU with, is there a way to look that up on the EK1?
