While having our annual car cruise with the buddies, I challenged a friend of mine and his CLA45 AMG on a roll race.

His car is stock aside from intakes and I am running JB4 map 2 with intakes and running on heavier 20s than stock.

The pull was 5th gear around 2k (ish) RPMs on both of us and the highway was uphill.

To cut it short, we gunned it and the Stinger immediately pulled ahead and then stayed good 2-3 cars ahead till we hit somewhere close to 200 km/h.

I am assuming from dig, the AMG will get me seeing its so much lighter. Thoughts?

He's what, 250 lbs lighter? And on map 2 you'd be maybe 430-440hp to his 400?

That's close enough to be a tossup, but his 2.0 needs a lot of turbo to hit the same power, so if you're both starting in high gear and low revs, I'd expect him to take noticeably longer to hit boost, unless his transmission is much faster to double/triple downshift.

Yeah, I think the turbo lag is what kept the AMG back. Honestly I was surprised as my car comes with integrated 2 child seats :P so the weight difference is easy 120lb bigger.

I have had many very fast cars. 800 who Porsche GT2 and a supercharged 663 who M3.

I will tell you that, while obviously not a supercar, the Stinger is no joke. It is quite fast by normal standards.

What people forget about, is that this car is making nearly maximum torque at only 1700 rpms. That means it has a super fat power band and the HP numbers don't tell all the story on this car,
