Has anyone established a reliable set of jack points for this car yet? I cant seem to see any place to jack the front up.

Havent looked at the rear but I know on my Forte, there were stories about the floor buckling as there wasn't a great jack point for the rear on that car either. New cars can be so stubborn in this regard.

The owners manual only talks about jacking from the side for roadside tire replacements. I would be using a low profile floor jack and stands.

You jack up both front-side points, or drive up onto ramps. There is not a "front" jack point (or rear for that matter).

I had the problem last weekend. Since the doubled welds run the whole length of the car and I'm a true Canadian I just put a hockey puck on my floor jack and jacked the car up further down from the jack point and quickly got my jack stands in there, no damage but a bit of a nail biter doing it. The sideskirts didn't have an issue flexing, they have lots of give.

So I used the pinch weld jack spots (opening in side skirts) to jack it up, then put actual jack stands To the sides of it using a pinch weld adapter as to minimize pressure on the side skirts.
Thanks for this. Ill have a look when I get home.

You can get pinch weld adapters for your floor jack, too, but I also have a pile of pucks. Can only get them during the winter down here in Texas though. :D
The plastic rocker cover has tons of flex. It'll move out of the way. If anything you might have to give it a tap to re-seat one of the pins.

I'm about to buy a stinger. So just so that we are being clear...

1. Get hydraulic jack and put in a Pinch Weld Adapter to use on the rail. PICTURE
2. Jack up car to desired height
3. Use common jackstands at designated spots ("Plates welded to the frame with 2 tabs and a raised dot")

That is what I do, although I brought the rubber pieces that insert in the jack-stand as well. Another option is to use the sub frame down under the front end but you have to remove the rear covers down there first.

you can buy them on amazon, ebay and others. they have the slot in them just like the rubber for the floor jack. Keeps jack stands from damaging those points.

A little pricey but looks like it would make things easier and no worries about damaging anything?

Clever. I usually jack mine up with the floor jack as close as I can get to the jack point and get the jack stand in. using the pinch weld. Makes me nervous. There are a couple of sub frame members in the front (under covers). and in the back around the differential that might be used too.

which quickjack fits the stinger best? the 5000?
