My Optima is 6.5 years old and done over 133,000kms and doesn't have one stone chip.We got it from new and it has never had any paint protection on it at all.It is garaged overnight, may be we are just lucky, I don't know, but it looks good for a car of it's age.
Just signed papers on a Stinger and will get hydro protektiv on it but my hubby wanted to see how that goes as he thinks I'm getting too over the top wanting ppf as well. It's going to be an early birthday pressie and he let me get the dash cams so I can't complain.![]()
Are you going to change your parking habits with the Stinger?HOWEVER, lots of scratches on side panels from the parking lot jackholes at the suupermarket and mall .
With my Stinger, due to it's colour Micro Blue. We did end up going the whole hog basically.FWIW, I had the Zurich Paint Sealant put on my '13 Optima (Corsa Blue, lovely color) at the dealer before delivery and have not has any rock chips. HOWEVER, lots of scratches on side panels from the parking lot jackholes at the suupermarket and mall .

Just wondering Flame why you went for the full PPF when you said your old Optima had done 130000kms without one stone chip and no paint protection. With my Stinger, due to it's colour Micro Blue. We did end up going the whole hog basically.
It needed paint correction, then we had it PPF, total front coverage except the chrome and all ceramic coated.
Yeah, that's different' we'd call that a wrap, PPF is usually just a clear film that's applied to certain panels and doesn't change the colour of the car. The prices you're quoting are accurate for a full wrap.i would like to put on some PPF on my car. but here in lil ol' sweden it costs usually around $2600-$4600 to have a pro do the job.
I would like to have something like this KPMF Matt Purple Black Iridescent K75565 Vinyl
Or in a red tone.
Or perhaps this snakeskinOrmskinn vinyl
.........................gee they did a pretty rough job .......................I paid about $2000 for professional PPF installation for full front (hood, lights, mirrors, quarter panels, bumper), roof, rear bumper, side skirts and door handles. That was about the going rate for the Suntek PPF which has a hydrophobic top coat that repels water and dirt and makes the car easier to clean like a ceramic coat; the other PPF's don't have this. Chose Auto-Shield Columbia because they do the best work in the area.View attachment 31388 View attachment 31389 View attachment 31390 View attachment 31391
Tell them that nobody is impressed by patters used on their cars: they'll want to correct that.I paid about $2000 for professional PPF installation for full front (hood, lights, mirrors, quarter panels, bumper), roof, rear bumper, side skirts and door handles.
