Is this car a masterpiece or what?

Are you working a contract over there? I was in the UAE in 94 while on in port on a US Navy ship.

I want to see what my 2.0 and the 3.3 does on top gears track.......but I guess that will never happen now.

No, I go there to attend conferences, conduct some businesses and visit our branch over there from time to time.

Wow you were there in 94 ! UAE has changed a lot since then !! You must come by some time to see the unbelievable development this country has done. Especially Dubai !

Only thing there was a TGIT with a little person as a door person. Oh and the USO of sorts, I think it was for state department employees to use but we had access. They set up a "beer garden" in the port, had a local pizza hut dude and kabob guy down there. Most of the cheap skates hung around that area. A few guys got arrested for alcohol, 3 of them were not drunk and the cabby was claiming they didn't pay the guy. The guy who paid had just won the lotto 6 months before we headed to somalia so the command took his side. I follow a Mercedes Mech in that area (I own a 2008 E63) and he posts videos of DIY issues like headbolts, cams, timing on the M156 engines.

Is it true there are supercars abandoned on the roads?

Hello Salman, how are you? I just discovered your post about your trip Riyadh to Dubai. Very nice writing.
I've lived in dubai for 8 years and i just shift to Riyadh beginning of the year. I purchased a stinger just before my move and i'm planning to bring it to Riyadh, but since i moved here and discovered the traffic and drive style i have to say that i'm worry for my new ride... How is it to drive the stinger here on daily basis? Also are you always doing the trip Riyadh/dubai with the car?
By the way it reminds me that during my first week here, i was walking along the road to try to cross and i remember seeing a Ceramic Silver Stinger coming my way before turning right inside a residential area, maybe it was you :D

I left a hemi ram for my ride.....just hating the winter(s) and the crap they use to melt the ice.....I won't subject my stinger to those elements......I'm staying with this ride til the wheelchair.

What do we think the top speed could be if it wasn't limited? It looked like it reached 272/169 with ease. Couldn't really see where the revs were at in the video.
ETA: ah I see in the second one they were only about 5k. That's awesome.

Wonderful write up, thoroughly enjoyed reading about your trip. Loved the photos and vids.
If the cops were concerned about three Stingers (owners ) gathered together near the parking lot, they would be beside themselves if they came across 21 Stingers all gathered together which occurred in Sydney recently.:)

Hello @Brunoc66, Thanks for reaching out. How's your transition going so far? I know Riyadh is no Dubai, but we're getting there quickly, espicially with the Saudi 2030 Vision.
I know the driving style and the constant traffic in Riyadh is not the perfect place for the Stinger. But as far as I'm concerned, I didn't let it affect how I enjoy my Stinger. Yet, there's one thing to consider if your precious ride is RWD as mine, Riyadh roads are very slippery - I don't know why - so your going to struggle getting traction on the rear wheels when putting your foot down on the acceleration pedal!
Unlike Dubai roads, their roads are perfect, I rarely can hear a squeak when I floor it!

As far as doing trips to Riyadh/Dubai, I only went a couple of times. I'm would like to go there soon.

You mentioned that you saw a Ceramic Silver, I doubt it's mine. but you could tell me the name of the residential area, and I can confirm.

Let me know if you need anything in Riyadh, I'd be happy to help I fellow Stinger.

Wish you all the Luck.
Salman

Wouldn't that be the fault of drifting sand!?

Don't think so..

I figure it's because of the Sun and the constant heat on the road, that kinda melted the asphalt and made it so smoooooth. I always get ABS working when a slightly hit the brakes harder than usual.

Hello everybody and thank you @Salman for your reply.

The transition is going well, just not used yet of the low temperatures here it's crazy.

The area where i saw the ceramic silver is along King Abdulaziz Road, next to the compound Plaza Residence.

I saw another one (also ceramic silver) on the road last time, while i was going in the direction of Al Badiah.

Mine is still in Dubai at the moment, just finished to make it full detailed by a very good garage (i can share the name and address in MP or here if people are interested). They cleaned it fully inside and outside (there was makeup on the rear seat and belts, the stearing wheel was full of stains, there was a dent on the rear left door, there was a sticker on the shark antenna and they even fixed the driver seat which was damaged due to the corpulence of the previous owner (no critics it's just that the car is low and kind of tight entry that he was rubbing the door seal and the edge of the seat each time he got inside.
Ill share picture and video down.

I will flight to dubai this weekend and discover the car fully new:Do_O

Then i will arrange to bring it back here.

Ill be cautious with the speedup

Here are the 2 videos during fixing of the seat, you can clearly see the "cut" on the edge, the guy was applying a special product to stop the damages and smooth it:

I was surprised by the amount of product and colors they had to put together to match the leather.

Photo of final result will follow next post

Sweet write-up! I immigrated to Canada and bought my Stinger here. That 13% tax hit me in the gut!

Can't wait to move back to the Middle East once I'm done here in a couple of years. I'm contemplating shipping my Stinger over after paying it off; the Canadian spec ones have everything except the front parking sensors.

I'm quite surprised you guys didn't get any speeding tickets,160 on a 100 road! I used to get antsy doing 125 (20 over is the 'grace' speed). Could you tell us more about the front bumper? I've taken my car in high speed as well (nope, not outing myself here :p), bumper was fine. What caused yours to open up? Did Kia fix it? This car was tested in the Nurburgring and this bumper stuff should happen..

And this will come on front to replace original logo. For back i'm hesitating between Stinger Chrome or this logo as well.

I have been to Jeddah. I am from Abu Dhabi.
Roads are really good here.
I am confused between a Stinger V6 or a Telluride. I have a family of 5 including me.
