Is there a Stinger Wave?

I'm a new Stinger owner - picked up a 2019 GT2 with 8,400 miles about three weeks ago. Thrilled with the car so far. It is replacing a 3-Series BMW and I chose the Stinger over the BMW 640 GT.

I'm also in the Corvette world where the Corvette wave is a thing (Corvette drivers wave to each other). I also know that Jeep and Mini owners have something similar. Today, I got my first Stinger Wave! Gray Stinger pulled into the Lowe's parking lot as I was getting into my Red Stinger and we exchanged the wave as I pulled out and he was walking toward the store.

Was this a one-off? Or do Stinger owners wave to acknowledge each other? Anyone experienced it, giving and/or getting the wave?

I don't know that it's an Official Thing in the way it is for Corvettes and Jeeps, but our cars are uncommon & distinctive enough, and ones most owners would've chosen with intention, so if you wave I'd expect in most cases that you'd get one back.

Most give peace sign or 2 finger wave in my area. I see a couple a month.

I've experienced it a number of times. Usually, however, I can't get a clear view of the other driver to exchange greetings. Sometimes I've been willing, but the other driver is obviously just "the other half" driving her husband's Stinger and doesn't acknowledge that their ride is rare and very cool.

I wave anytime I see another stinger (as there are only about 6-7 of them in my tiny rural mid-west town) esp if I can see that its modded. Afterall, there were only about 71,000 Stingers sold in the US.... total. Thats not very many, so the Stinger is a rare bird to begin with.

Historically, I've have had 5 jeeps, so I'm familiar with the Jeep wave. Dodge Viper owners also do a "thumbs up" thing at each other.

I had been looking at BMW 640 GTs but they are even rarer than Stingers and I was having trouble finding the spec I wanted with lowish miles. So I decided to look at the Stinger. My local Carmax had this one but it was quite a bit more expensive than I had told my wife I would be spending so I went to look at/test drive it only to get an idea of whether I wanted to look for a Stinger more in the price range I had in mind. Also, it was red and I had told myself that I was not going red with this car as all my other cars are red (wife's Toyota Venza, my 2011 BMW 128i and '99 Corvette). But it was so perfect and I just couldn't pass on the low mileage so I opened the wallet a bit wider. Wife was okay with it - she prefers riding in the Stinger over the 128, the Corvette, and the BMW 328i Touring the Stinger is replacing. I wanted it for road trips so really wanted a Grand Tourer. She was also mollified a bit when I told her that when I am ready to let go of the 128i I would likely not replace it, getting us down to only three cars.
Funny, though, that a few days after I bought the Stinger, a 640GT in the spec and lowosh mileage I wanted popped up at a Honda dealer a couple of hours from me. Had it been only a week earlier I probably would have bought it and not the Stinger.
