3 weeks after buying my Stinger, the driver side door pull handle came detached from the door panel. 2 weeks after that the passenger side did exact same thing. Dealer gave me a hard time. Made me wait more than 2 weeks to get a service appointment. Claimed they’ve “never seen this before” and ordered new interior door panels. My vehicle has been at the dealer for 3 weeks and they state the panels are on back order status “red”. I called them out and said I think it’s a flaw with the 2022 models and they keep denying that there is an issue. I am so fried about this especially now that I am seeing these similar situations posted on this forum

Howdy and welcome. Your dealer is crap: either they are woefully ignorant or deceitful. Find another one that deals instead of steals.

Meanwhile, WHY is your car sitting over there for any amount of time over grab handles that came loose??!!. Just take your car back and move on. There is a TSB on this: the date range is from January to 17th of June, I believe: something went south on the door card assemblies: probably defective plastic, since it appears that the knurled screw mounts are pulling out of the ends of the mounting posts.

Can your doors be operated in the state they're in? If so I would ask for the car back until they get the part in.

It's a lousy situation that Kia has a defective part for something that had no issues with in the past but doesn't yet have enough replacement parts. It's been a known problem for a while, so hopefully they get enough of these manufactured soon.

There's a TSB for this issue linked in another thread. I would give that to your dealer so they know it's a known problem.

Thanks for the info. The service department actually received one of the two door ordered door panels and installed driver’s side yesterday. I showed the tech the TSB posted here and his eyes got wide! Asked if he could borrow my phone to show the screenshot to his service manager. The 4 service guys standing in the dept all appeared to be surprised. My tech said that their dealer hadn’t seen any of these and mine was the first one. I wonder why Kia corporate didn’t advise this dealership. I brought my car home and supposedly will be receiving my other panel mid September. They’ve promised to install as soon as the part arrives. Another item posted on this forum related to ticking noise. I have that too. Really annoying. I thought something may be loose in the spare tire well. I have the sunroof so not sure where sound is coming from but seems to be from the rear. Can’t find any true cause. What a shame that my car buying experience resulted in less than satisfactory pleasure. But I do love this car aside from the issue and can’t wait to have it back to normal.

Oh well, it is just possible that this dealership hadn't heard of, or seen, any failing grab handles. Since they seem to be doing good things for you, give them a second chance, I suppose. (glad you're not leaving your car sitting with them anymore  )

The "ticking" if it's noticeably coming from the rear is probably a version of the "hatch rattle". There are a number of fixes for these, all of them very inexpensive vis-à-vis money but not vexation (I read all about it). If noises start around the sun roof, the first thing you do is push up on your headliner around the opening, HARD: expect to feel/hear the Velcro snapping back into place: for some, this alone has cured that source of extraneous noise.
