Hello, I have a injen intake and I was using paddle shifter when this happened.
When I was going 3rd to 4th the air intake released the air when my foot was still on the gas paddle.
What is the cause of this? no engine light came up anything. I’m sure if I overboost the car throw you a code?

It was probably your BOV releasing excess boost and sounds kinda like overboost to me. Usually when this happens if you switch your gauges to show your boost levels, you'll notice you won't be generating any actual boost. You don't always get a check engine light from an overboost unless it happens at least two drive cycles in a row. It's more common on the 2022+ and when it's cold out. What year is your car?

If you have a OBDII code reader, when it happens and you use the code reader to check for codes, it should show up as pending code P0234 if it's overboost.

That's the thing. Technically speaking the fact that the 2022+ have a tendency to overboost than the others says, yes it's a problem Kia should address/fix. Problem is I don't think enough people are bringing the cars into the dealership because it goes away if you turn the car off and back on. And unless you overboost again during that drive you won't get another check engine light. I haven't had the time to be bothered and it's starting to warm up here now. So hopefully when I have a chance I'll force the check engine light by forcing a back to back overboost.

When the trans shifts and the RPM's drop, the excess boost must be vented through the BOV's or you will get a boost spike that can damage the tubing or intercooler, as well as causing the turbos to cavitate. You normally don't notice this with the stock intake because it vents back into the filter housing. However, when you put CAI on, the vent is now open to the atmosphere and you can hear it.
You will hear the same sound if you are under boost and release the throttle, since this will cause a boost spike unless it is vented.

only mod i have is velossa tech, injen intake and OCC. do you think it will fix the issue if i get ECU tune? or is it whole different problem?

It only happens when I use paddle shifter, it was sucking air but when I shift 3rd to 4th it just released the air and then engage sucking air again maybe I slightly released gas pedal?
I will try to video tape it or something next time

Hearing the BOV vent is perfectly normal with an open intake.
You don't need a tune for any of these mods. You only need to start thinking tune if A.) you want more power. B.) you start adding things like HFC or catless primaries and/or secondaries, or running E30 or WMI.

got ya, well im not sure exact problem maybe it was overboost problem? I haven’t used paddle shifter after this happened. I’ll try again during summer time since its still cold here in AK. Eventually, i’m planning to get lap3 ECU anyway so hopefully everything goes okay

Did you actually lose power? I didn't see anything in your original post about losing power or other indication there was a problem other than hearing the BOV vent.
If you are mostly stock, and in cold weather lose power until you restart, then definitely could be over boost. 2022's have been more prone to this, there are several reports on this forum. If this is the case, then take it to the dealer. Most people seem to just dismiss it because it clears on restart, but the problem won't get solved by Kia until enough people complain.

I honestly don’t remember lol I’m going to try again and see if it does the same thing. As of now car running fine tho!

This sounds like you are shifting to late. This happens to me when I’m not paying attention and I let it get above red line. Try shifting earlier when using the paddles.
Or you are having the HPFP crash like many others with newer Stingers have had. In that case it’s a dealer visit.
