Thought this was pretty awesome. I own a Kia Stinger GT Indigo Edition. When I first was looking at Stingers, I had no idea how rare the Indigo Edition was and how much of a steal I got it for used from the dealer - only 500 models made.

And guess what? I just saw another indigo in the wild today in Texas?!! What are the odds?!

Well I was curious from the limited research I did, 65,000 stingers have been sold in the U.S., and only 500 Indigos were made in 2020.

So the odds of me seeing one were 0.77%. Took me 3 years to see one and the odds of seeing one were less than 1%… and it was awesome! Probably should’ve asked to take a picture… but I caught up to them at a light after like 3-5 minutes of tracking them down and then I pulled up next to them and they still didn’t see me haha. I was waving for like a solid 45 seconds and they didn’t hear me honk.

If you’re on this forum, it was nice meeting you briefly!

yea... from my research it was 500 only for the US. I've only ever seen one other in the wild (not in a dealership) on the interstate going the other way as me here in TN 2 years or so ago. :( . When i bought mine I saw 2 new at the 2 kia dealers in atlanta and mine of course here in tn. I got mine new with 6 miles on the clock before the crazy prices!! about 6k below msrp if i remember correctly...

@vipeboy2000 Yeah I got mine at “used” at 2,000 miles, so I got a good deal along with the dealer probably not understanding this package. The previous owner upgraded to an M5 or 6 I believe…. Stinger wasn’t up to his speed I guess lol.

Not a lot of cars are up to m5 speed. I challenged one on the freeway. Not because I thought I had any chance. Just for fun. But it wasn't even funny, how embarrassing it turned out to be.

Yea. Most people probably have no idea just how quick those newer tt m5s are especially at highway speeds. My coworker has one lightly tuned and a lot of "exotics" don't have the legs to keep up lol.

Pics or it didn't happen.

I read that there were 500 made but only 55 got sent to the USA. Don’t know if that’s accurate information or not. I’ve had my indigo stinger for just shy of a year now.

Some Ascot Green Tributes were made in addition to the original run of a few hundred. I have no idea what the worldwide split of those 1,000 Tributes is, Ascot Green to Matte Silver. Only 400 Tributes made it to the USA. How many Green how many Silver, who knows?

Of course Ascot Green is the best color, with Indigo Blue a close second. But if you were going to spring for a Tribute, it might be a tough choice over the matte silver, since it would be indistinguishable from "regular" Stingers.

As for the M5 question, with 600hp/550tq, all wheel drive, and 4400lbs of weight, I suppose a fully upgraded Stinger (call it 550hp, 4100lbs?) might juuuuust hang with it on the highway, or at least not fall too far back.

But off the line, on 275/285s, and certainly with even a slight tune on the BMW...game over. Which it should be for $115k or whatever.
