'click baity' yes
But what ive done is quite embarassing and no one saw so i must share here.
Also ill include all the silly mistakes ive made 1 time with this car.
I was parked at the bank. Made a deposit and made a quick exit. Jump in turn wheel pull out.... and right over the curb like a jack
Front went over awd worked great. Slid the skirt and over the rear aswell.... i was committed when i went.
Shes fine, no dings or bent things, surprised me to be honest and i am glad it just slid over. Simple mistake and nearly nothing happened and there yah go i goofed.

I also hit the gas instead of brake while auto hold was engaged. Quickly aquired the correct pedal but the car lounged towards a man in front and we shared a laugh fortunately.

Multiple times to fast with the sunroof all the way open lol

Ran high tire pressure on my first set of wheels and ran the center flat.

I've been so, so, sooo careful with this car. It's made me the best driver I've ever been. I keep getting better.

The biggest dummy I did was nigh on two years ago (I already confessed here, but for you and anyone new, here it is). Did the trip down from Salt Lake City to LA (in this car, a short day, hah). Latched onto the tail of a BMW i8, and we picked up an M5 (I think it was an M5), and for the better part of two hours we tail chased, weaving in and out of freeway traffic like proper hooligans, exceeding 120 MPH numerous times. Then we arrived at the canyon and came down to the LA area and the i8 went on her way and I on mine.

I picked up my wife (who had flown), and we were on our way to our motel reservation on PCH. It was late evening. An 18 wheeler was hogging the left lane and of course crowding the right lane as well. An SUV in front of us swung into the median and gunned it and started to pass the truck. I followed suit and the next thing I knew, in an instant, suddenly, there was a raised concrete ridge running down the middle of this median. I high centered in the next half a second: it sounded horrible and I hit the brakes and stopped. Cursing I leaped out and slammed the door and went across the street and sat down with my head in my hands. I heard responders arriving and saw flashing lights on the ground between my feet. When a cop came over and enquired as to my state I didn't answer for a long time, but I did get to my feet and walk back across the street. I talked to the two of them as we waited for a tow truck to arrive. I took "insurance pictures".

The truck arrived and it was old school: a boom and hook. I started to wake up. The Kia manual about how to properly tow the Stinger came to mind. There was no way this truck was going to tow me anywhere! I got in and slowly, agonizingly, loudly (scrape!), backed off the median ridge. Okay. Let's just call it good and I'll look at it later.

I drove the last few minutes to the motel. When I got under there and shined my flashlight, I couldn't believe it. Only the undercarriage panels were torn, mainly the second one, right down to the wishbone bolt. But that was all.

How could I believe that I was in control at 120 plus MPH, and then at c. 45 MPH manage to high center? It was a ludicrous question: showing hubris in the glaring light of truth: I had been an utter idiot that afternoon. Anything could have happened, involving anyone in tragedy. If a simple pass in near darkness could catch me that easily, I have NO business endangering anyone on the freeway hooning about. And so I don't do that anymore.

The position; and initial damage as seen in the motel parking lot minutes later. And up on the lift getting the new panels put on. (It should be obvious, that, if I had a lowered car, even one inch lower, it would have been critically injured if not destroyed.)

We're sharing embarrassing Stinger moments? My kinda thread.

In 2.75 years I've:
-ran over a ladder on the highway
-hit a truck wheel on the highway and did 12k in damage
-ran into my garage wall thinking I was in reverse (no damage)
-almost rear ended a co-worker's car, thinking I was in park
-almost ran over a dumbass co-worker, who thought it was a good idea to bend over and tie his shoe when he was right in front of the car
-exited the passenger side, unaware doing so doesn't kill the power; halfway back to the office, Bluetooth audio disconnected and the radio started playing at volume level > 30
-attempted to angrily drive off during an argument but didn't have my seatbelt on, so the car slammed into park
-angrily sped off after a different argument, and because it was cold outside, did an unintentional 180 when I tried to make a left (yay RWD).

I'm sure there are other moments I've forgotten or blocked out...

I blame your wife, if is was just you maybe your car would have leaned off of it. Just kidding. Glad you were all safe

No clue it did that! Do you need to get to a certain speed? I need to remind hubby to belt up, he sometimes forgets after he has belted up our two yorkies, forgets his own.

At least you got off the gas and only did half a donut. A video shared on here a while back showed a Mustang hooning out of a gas station; the driver lost control and stayed ON the go pedal, right back into the gas station and a pump, which lit itself and his car on fire. (The saddest part was the driver running to a next door grocery store and coming back with a bottle of water, which he tried to douse the fire with; then he simply ran off.)

It does it if the door is open or ajar, say for instance, if you open the door to see how close you are to a curb and then try to move forward; at anything over a crawl it slams into park (gt2 model, at least), if the seatbelt isn't latched. If the seatbelt IS latched, then it just holds the brake until you shut the door.

Thanks I will need to test that out. I have the 2020 gt2.

2 years 9 months no dumb things so far- touch wood. I don't do a lot of things well but driving is my Fortè.

I had a somewhat similar moment. Stopped at a red light, put the parking brake on (to avoid pad glaze deposits) and took off my seat belt to reach over and grab something from the passenger side. Light turns green and I floor it thinking the parking brake will just disengage. But because I had my seatbelt off it would not disengage, and the car started urgently beeping at me as it accelerated with the parking brake on (up to ~40mph). Took me a few seconds to realize what was going on - I buckled the seat belt while it was still moving and the parking brake still wouldn't disengage. Had to pull over to a complete stop before it was satisfied and let go. I'm sure I looked like a dumbass to all the traffic around me.
