How to change your Wiper blades the proper way

For the shorter blade, are you using 18" or 17" ?

These look very similar to the Denso Hybrid wipers that came stock with my Stinger GT Limited. Except for the aero vents on them.

Description states: "Coats Windshield with Water-Repellent Silicone with Every Wipe so You Don't Have to Re-apply it." How many wipes before they're gone, lol?

That's a great tip ! Thanks ! I wish my Kia dealer (or owner's manual) would have told me about that...
I found that in my owners manual and every time I scrub windshield or wash car I first set the wipers to vertical position.
After switching off engine, hold wiper switch up within 30 seconds.

Thanks for the great info on how to get the wipers to the park position. Just replaced mine with some Repco brand ones 18"/26" and no more streaks across the screen! lol These Repco Hydroflat wipers cleaned the screen up great as well.

to bad we can't get the oem design on the original wiper(s)

You can simply replace only the blade itself, and not the whole wiper, as to keep the OEM look.

It's funny, I've used this trick on my VWs for years and did the same on the Stinger... didn't even think of how that's probably not a given feature.

It's also good to park in the snow with the wipers up.

Really helpful. Not to complain though but the wiper arms should just hinge at an angle so you never even run the chance of chipping the paint. Probably parts bin arms I get it but seems dumb to allow interference and require a special process to lift up the blades.

Probably a question of aerodynamics. Moreover in wintertime, the recessed wipers get stuck in snow and ice down there.

Most Kia cars suck when it comes to a ice and snow situation and parked wipers. In New England we raise them off the window for easier cleaning.

Thanks. I'm not in a wintery environment though(southern US).

I'm looking at the Bosch MicroEdge, pretty good reviews and cheap enough on Amazon. Might go for a set of those.
Did you find a good blade? I live in AZ desert, and any of the more expensive blades I have tried in the past don't last longer (at least not long enough to justify the 2-3x price difference).

My dealer told me on the second service and I did find it in the owner's manual.....7-33 called "service" position.....
