How To Adjust Headlight Beam Height

I have adjusted low beams up and down and but didnt make a difference
I assume you mean "didn't make a difference in high beams"? If so, that would mean that the high beams are a fixed position, which I hope is the case, actually; because I don't need my high beams reaching for the horizon, thank you very much!

Let's say that the high beams do go up higher if you adjust the low beams to reach higher/farther. I'd still do it, because I seldom use the high beams anyway. 99% of my night driving is on low beams. And I'd raise them despite the high beams going too high for my liking.

When I adjusted my low beams up due to the lowering springs I noticed to my high beams were way up in the trees as well, and considerably to the left. I guess where you'd suppose they would be.

Is there a separate adjustment for the high beams as they shine a spot way up in the trees but low beam is ok

If you’re talking about the same thing I’m seeing I don’t think your high beam needs adjusting; it’s more about leakage. My high beam is just fine but every morning I drive through an area with over hanging trees and I’ve noticed a bar of light illuminating the overhanging trees at about 60° from the horizontal which I’m assuming is an issue relating to shielding or reflectivity perhaps. Other than that my high beam is pretty good, excellent in fact.

There are meds for leakage. Or Depends.

Seriously though the aim of the low beams from the factory is pathetic, way too low.

Dangerously low, it has been pointed out more than once.

Thanks @DaJackson ! Your post saved me. My lights were low to begin with, I told the shop that was doing my suspension that it would need to be done, and they forgot about it after the springs went on. Asked the dealership to do it, no change.

They were down a LOT at 25'.

At 25" how far away from the board were you. From memory I set mine at 26 1/2" at 10ft distance. To me they're perfect , but now 2 people have told me one of my high beams is bobbing up and down and point up? I'm not aware of this but yesterday some bugger high beamed me. Maybe something loose?

I set them by putting my board right in front of the car and marking the line of the headlight, then moved the board 25 feet away. Now they hit the bottom of the trunk of a car ahead of me where previously they would hit the bottom of the tires.

As an example, I stopped at a stop sign the other day, my headlights point at the curb across the street.

Couldn’t see shit driving 80kph down a country road except the asphalt going under my tires.

This is what it looks like after leveling.

That's absolutely the best illustration of "before and after" on the forum. Kudos!

Way better! Did you use a screwdriver or the bolt head under the air boxes to adjust yours? I need to do mine.

The bolt, removing/replacing the air boxes took only a few minutes. The bolt on the host clamp is the same size as the bolts holding the air boxes in. I tried with a screwdriver but it just didn’t want to turn. Would have been even easier with one of those fancy ratcheting wrenches.

Adjusted mine using screw method and wow, what a massive difference. The factory aim is a waste of light beam.

For whatever reason the screwdriver method did not work for me, there was good engagement but the torque I was applying was pretty high. Removing the air boxes was trivial if anyone runs into the same issue.

If you have aftermarket intakes, the adjustment bolt might already be accessible

I adjusted mine back down to be just below side mirror height: figured that riding behind somebody c. 150 feet ahead, and lighting up their mirrors, wasn't very nice. So, just below.

Don't any of your cars have Auto High Beams !!
I must admit Lights are abit low but in the dark my high beams come on so no issue..they dip when other cars come towards you and around city streets its not an issue anyway.

Not sure about you, but even with my auto high beams, a car could be a couple of miles away and the highs will turn off, then I'm driving the deer infested dark with the forest rats gnashing their teeth as they wait for me to get closer so they can suicide against my shiny paint. My headlights were so low that I could easily run over the neighbourhood kids and think it was just a traffic calming measure.

However, if auto high beams is enough for you justify the laziness of improperly adjusted headlights, that's cool too ;)
