Hello,
I am in the process (slow process) of modifying the Stinger. Performance wise, I have HnN Typhoon air intakes already installed.

The next steps will be to hopefully get: MBRP exhaust, Race Chip, and a Dyno tune + ECU unlock.(in this order)

The question is: With all of this extra HP/Torque, will I have to start modifying part of the engine also? I don't intend on modifying anything else unless I absolutely have to (performance wise).

I have attached a snapshot of the numbers I got online (although I believe the actual numbers will be less once all is done and accounted for?)Performance corner.webp

Looking forward to reading your answers and questions (and Frank jokes)!!!

Frank

Gains over race chip from a tune will likely be marginal. Jb4 is a better add-on than race chip for serval reasons but others can dive into that. Bolt-ones without upgrades such as water/meth, turbos will likely net you 80-100 hp gains over stock on a good weather day. Modifications don’t necessarily stack like they look too....you can’t just add up claims manufacturers have for each component unfortunately. Advise. I would expect you to be around 400-at the wheels with the list shown where stock is say 320

@runner1 Thanks for the input! This is exactly the kind of info I am looking for. I will def be looking at Jb4.

To answer your other question, no one has found the limit yet on stock internals. The hardcore tuners can chime in for more accurate numbers but I think max people are getting on stock turbos is about 475 to 500whp. Anything above that I think is requiring a turbo upgrade.

This of course is all dependent on what you plan on doing with that power.

In short, I wouldn't be concerned with the mods you have planned, they are well within the cars capabilities

Thanks for the info, I can't wait to have em all on in this case!

You may be held back on fuel in Canada. Not sure what NB offers, but if like much of Canada, 91 octane may be all you are able to get. This limits your max tuning potential to Map 2 on JB4 before running octane booster. Based on the graphs I have viewed, you'll likely be under 400WHP with AWD with those mods.

Mods dont really stack like that in terms of power but build sheet looks nice. For great pricing and unmatched customer service make sure to hit up @NICK_KHAR he runs the ONLY aftermarket parts shop that does in house installs dedicated to the Stinger and KDM platform.

The racechip is unfortunately not going to get you those gains. If you are purely after gains the Jb4 or the Uncle Chip Lap3 Performance chip tune will be the way to go. You will get an even higher bump in horsepower and much more than throttle mapping. The racechip is a great product but for your 3.3T engine, you will get more performance from a tune. Additionally, I would look into adding the Ultimate Performance Downpipes. When changing the primary downpipes you will get a bigger boost in power than a catback alone. This is obviously not set in stone but I believe it is something you should consider within the parameters you have mentioned. Feel free to reach out with any questions. I can also get you a discount and match or beat competitor prices on any of the products we carry on or offline at the K8 Stinger Store.

Power gains dont add up like that.
