How much did your car insurance change with the Stinger?

I left my 328i in the dust! Drove an M with the sound kit once before and it has me wondering if I do the same to the Stinger haha

Yeah that Borla exhaust has my interest piqued.

I was hoping my DriveWise package would lower my insurance premium but Geico says they don't give discounts for that kind of stuff. Which company are you with? (Love that new Compass btw)

Check out Liberty Mutual also, good defensive driving discount and a really generous multi-driver/policy discount.

Also they started a new thing (not sure if other insurance companies are doing it) where you pay $35 extra/year, and they start a "deductible fund" where they put in $100 every year you don't pay the deductible for anything, it auto stops when you hit your deductible amount, and it'll just take from that fund and restart the $35/$100 payments if you ever need to pay it.

I will have to check out these other options because I called farmers and it was high as well..

Have;t had an accident or violation in a long time. I do have 2 teenage girls on the policy. Credit rating fine, etc. and I am being quoting between 1200 to 1800 for 6 month just for this car.

Damn, that's absurd!

I'm a 62-year old guy with an impeccable record, purchasing a GT2 RWD later this week. I switched last year from State Farm to Erie Insurance (multiple policies -- home/car/umbrella), Erie is very highly rated, great customer service, and my rates from SF went waaaay down. Erie is now quoting me a price of $1750 (high end coverage) vs $450 for my older car (an old Lexus ES300). $1750 seems nuts. Appreciate any comments or advice from others. . . .

$50k sports sedan in 2018, $1750 is about right. Did you ask them for all possible discounts? (safety features on the car, defensive driving, etc.)

Also completely depends on the state you live in.

Sorry I don't have a solution but that's exactly what is happening to me at apostate except I've been with apostate for like 25 yrs.
I'm slowly calling others based on this thread to see if there is a better place. Will let you know.

2015 genesis 3.8. Turn the Genesis back in , got the 2018 stinger GT2 AWD . $20 a month increase in insurance. I urge everyone who is buying a new car that if it's considerably more than your automobile, decide on the car that you want . Then get insurance quotes before you buy.

Learned an expensive lesson back in the 80s, 633 BMW , had to have it , bought it , then called insurance company to added to my policy the first quote was $6500 ouch . Shopped the insurance ended up getting it for 3500 still a lot. From then on I never bought another automobile without getting an insurance quote. Lesson learned .

105 ish per month forgot exactly but it only went up 4 dollars from my old car (2012 vw golf R) 31 years old male

Another 1st world problem is the huge uptick in insurance rate. I'm coming fron subaru legacy to stinger and the rate went up $1000 usd for the yr.

I was not expecting that.
Wow I’m sorry and mine only went up $3m. I had a 2014 Optima SXL, but this has a 365hp twin turbo V6 and is almost 20k more car so I expected a lot more. The Stinger was actually less than most other cars I was comparing, but Subaru’s are super safe and get great insurance rates from my experience.

Insurance increased by $100 biannually.

Insurance decreased $2 a month! I thought it was going to decrease more but it didn’t :/ went from 2014 Audi A4 to GT1. I also just bought my wife a GMC Denali and she is only 24 so I’m hoping in July when she turns 25 it will go down a little more.

We have farmers insurance btw.

I payed 850 ever 6 months for full coverage on 3 vehicles. 16 titan xd, 11 kia optima sx and. 07 mazdaspeed3.

Added stinger dropped optima and it went to 930 ever 6 months. But I hit a pothole(unavoidable) and damaged 2 wheels and geico told me that would be comprehensive so I submitted a claim. Once the claim was submitted they told me it was collision! Dam them....ruined my perfect driving record! They even pulled recorded phone calls and there reps clearly stated it was comprehensive but they don't care! There goes my rate!
