Hey guys, seen on the forums we use NGK 7 heat range spark plugs for stock (please correct me if I'm wrong). Is there any reason then why many people don't choose HKS M40il plugs instead of 45il, as the 40il is the next step colder plug? See heat range conversion chart.

Running Unichip with 302rwkw on stock plugs but looking to go aftermarket for peace of mind.

I ordered from the k8 stinger store in house and the 'recomended' plugs were 45's but the heat depends on boost meth e85 power goals. I hope this helps some ^_^

Edit: what ive heard .028 is a good gap for stingers.

That sounds a little gappy. Most of the JB4 performance guys are .022 as recommended by Burger. I’m at .024 which I believe was the early recommendation.

I had the 40il's gapped at .022 before Burger brought into light the Densos. The HKS were fine, now I use the 1 step colder Denso's, can't tell any difference other than Denso's are cheaper. Unless you are running at max all the time, I dont see a need for two step colder.

I am still factory tune. Just gathering the required supporting mods for map 7 lol

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Is there a consensus on which HKS heat range to get at this point? I will only be running JT intakes and JB4 on map 1 using 92 octane... which should I get?

Yeah I ended up going HKS M45IL which is what pretty much everyone goes. Haven’t had any issues even when going back to stock (selling car soon, moving to a estate/wagon with bigger boot)

Yeah I just ended up going the HKS M45IL from K8 Stinger store. Have had them on for close to a year now and not one issue, even when I went back to stock (selling the car in the next 6 months, moving to a wagon/estate with a bigger boot). When I was tuned I had JT intakes, Unichip (similar to JB4), Agency Power intercooler, and axle back bimodal exhaust. No issues at all.
