High tyre pressures from dealer - check your pressures!

My car was delivered with tyres at 41psi fronts, 44psi rears (warm).

I will check tomorrow to see what the cold temp pressures are.

Based on these figures & current ambient temperatures I would estimate cold Front 37-38 & Rear 40-41.

Mine was delivered with the pressures at 48 all round ( cold) luckily I had seen this thread and adjusted them at the first opportunity

Nice. You got lucky, friend. It seems like your dealership did the proper "off the truck" prep before hand. Sadly, most Kia dealerships are not up to snuff when it comes to details like this. Mine were all set around 45-50 psi when I picked up.

Yea I didn't think to check mine either when I purchased in March. 5000 miles later and after the first oil change I see everyone saying to check so I did mine was at 48 so they missed it twice, at delivery and at oil change. I had to lower them myself.
Hi Mr. SMOOFY. Picked up car from dealer and going up I 75 I realized tires where over inflated. Put car I. Garage and when tires cooled they where at 52 PSI.
I feel the dealers only wash and put the car on the lot. Stevo gt1

Yes it's sad they can't even get this part right as they have to do this on EVERY car they take delivery of.

WoW ... i just had the same issue, but thankfully i caught it immediately. I test drove the car and knew the ride was really rough, i started questioning it right away. I then said ... let me see the tire pressure in the settings and there it was 52psi....

i turned back around and went to the dealership and put what is listed on the driver side door jam. Immediately the drive was so much better!

"Immediately". :D I went two weeks on rock hard tires before finally noticing that something was not right. I don't think that the difference in Sport mode is all that noticeable to a brand new Stinger jockey. Some on here have driven for months before this revealed wisdom is gifted to them.

I thought about this thread when I picked up mine on Saturday. All four were 4-6 pound high. Made sure I fixed that right away.

That's not enough "high" to worry me. My previous Pilot Sport tires wore out on the edges, and I was keeping the psi at factory recommendation. I'm going to run these a few pounds over and see if I can get the center to wear out at c. the same time as the edges.

After changing to summer tyres, i cannot see the pressure in the info display.
It says "Drive slowly to show pressure" (or similar).
I cant drive slower than 1 km/h and still no display.

How far did you drive? Also do you change the entire wheel or just the tire? If entire wheel do the summer wheels have TPMS in them? It may be something that you have to update the car for the new TPMS sensors to be recognized.

it takes a few KM.. anything below 60kph and you'll be fine

I think you need to get your Stinger out and about more. It doesn't even know it's ON until you start to see the engine temp moving up. (slight exaggeration) The TPMS will come on long before then, though.

I have driven atleast 200km since the change, all between 1kmh and erm 190 :D

Does Kia fill the tires with nitrogen and, if not, is it worth the extra money?
